Now THAT would drive up page views, Howie!!

Mystery solved then, agate! Mod #7 seems to be lurking around to swiftly answer questions we pose to one another. Glad you weren't in any twouble and you hadn't gone on an obscene tirade or anything. I could see Sally doing that, but I was pretty sure that wasn't the reason for your edit. LOL

Just wait a minute, and I'll think of a few that will make you blush!

This forum is such fun. I'm hoping you all will adopt me. Howie, are you sure that it wasn't you that "said notsink ?" Guess I'll ask Col. Klink.

I really am concerned about all of you and what you go through. Keeping a good humor is very important.

To those of you that were here when I joined so long ago, 1999, I hope you don't remember me by some of my old names! I really am a good little girl since I got older than dirt!

Happy New Year everybody!! my love to all, Julia s

Julia, you guessed it, the good Cornel Klink. I see I'm not the only one who grew up with TV, and the shows still linger on in our memories.

Julia, I think it is very very true that if I didn't find the humor as often as I can, that I would be huddled in a corner by now sucking my thumb and wearing a diaper. Ok, I may still wear a diaper, but I haven't regressed back yet to my thumb-sucking behavior!

We have some really great senses of humor here, I always love it when I am surprised by something I read that makes me break out into a big grin. The Chit Chat thread is great for that, I admire how close everyone is.

I am so thankful for the internet and how it allows me to connect when sometimes it's the only way that I'm able to. And sometimes I only read yet still feel a connection to others which is so important to life. We sure are social creatures!!! We humans...and sponges too!

You didn't go off topic. The thread took a detour some time back.

We could put a subforum in for welcoming new members. I have been looking for a modification that would auto-post a welcome message after a new members first post, but haven't had much luck yet. I'll put in a request at a coding forum and see if I get any nibbles.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

                          Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Thanks Mike!!! I couldn't live without this forum, and you keep it running smoothly! To make it possible for everyone to communicate with others in the same boat is priceless!!!
