Jeanie, it IS September 1st. Realio-truelio.

          Sally, I'm a September bride, too! 28th.

Peg, 10 inches of rain! I can't even imagine. Where does it all drain?

An arborist is coming soon to see what they can do for my sick tree.

Ann, I actually went out and pruned my rose bush today. I got scratched and stuck dozens of times. That's what I deserve for getting up so early!

Sally, it has been almost a year. And my Bunny will be away for work on our first anniversary. <sad face here>

Good work, Howie. I have rose gloves around here somewhere.

Yeah, I've some real thick work gloves I could have used. But there's only room for one idea in my brain at a time, and "prune rose bush" was already there!

We had thunder and lightning last night and today. But there was plenty of dust too last night. We opened the window at bedtime as usual but I felt like I was breathing in dust so had hubby close it. The taxi I took to the church this morning was covered with the evidence and stalled out twice on the way because of the dust on the engine.

Uh Jeannie, maybe it's August in YOUR world...but in the real world it is indeed September !. Moving in to fall already...except today it is 92 degrees out, with a humidity way up there. Walk out, sweat immediately, come back in to air conditioning and freeze.. :)

All is NOT quiet on the Eastern Front! My sister Jean was headed back to Upstate NY yesterday to help with more sorting and stopped for lunch in Springfield and had several seizures in the Taco Bell there. She is in the Medical Center there with a huge egg on her head and bandaged. Still having "seizures" in one arm and leg according to her daughter and needs to spend at least one more night in the hospital. They are trying to get her transferred to the hospital in Providence where her neurosurgeon and Oncologist are (she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005 and it began to grow three years ago and she has been on chemo).

I saw my new PCP again last Friday. She seemed like she was bending over backwards to make a better impression but treated me as a child, praising me for a 6 pound weight loss and bringing my blood sugars down. She wanted to know what my goals were for next visit. I told her I don't work that way. She set the goals...I did not...and the goals were not consistent with my staying healthy and functional and this half year with her has not been good. Not sure if I will stay with her. The guy who took over my old PCP's practice is willing to see me and I may just go back there. Saw ortho today and he says he believes the chiropractor tore the the Labral cartilage (similar to the meniscus in the knee), and I need an arthroscopic MRI with dye injected into the hip. It is not repaired in a person my age and, if torn, since I have already been through the rest and anti-inflammatory meds and ultrasound to calm it, the only realistic course of action is to replace the hip. He said there is a lot of calcification in the joint already from injury and without the history of recent injury I probably would need replacement in 10 years anyway. Waiting to hear when the test is to be scheduled.

Dry here. Had to water the plants that are outside today as they were getting droopy. Temps still upper 80s.

DD came to see me today and brought a few dresses to wear for PT/OT.
I'm stuck here for the duration, I guess. Please pray for my recover, rehab and sanity.

Cherie, so sad about your Sister. Saying a prayer for her now.

Howie, you mean to say that you cant chew gum a step off the curb at the same time?

Parsi, that sand problem sounds just awful. Why don't you move back to the States, where we only have torndoes n hurricaines. Hope your Son is doing OK.

Ann, tell Mr Pizza Guy, not fair!!!!

Well, Sally, you've heard about people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time haven't you?
