      Braindead?

I really admire anyone with the courage to enroll in a drug trial. I'm too "risk-averse" or whatever it's called when you're a lily-livered chicken.

We've had people here who have been in drug trials. Does anyone remember Dee Walter? She was in the Tysabri trial--I think it was called the alpha-integrin trial.

I remember Dee. And you're right, it does take a great deal of courage to sign up for any trial, and anyone who does signs up to help others. Very admirable!

Pointing a gun at my head and pulling the trigger would be more effective in my case. No clinical trials for me!

Yeah Sally how right you are. How many neuros or docs even know much about ms? How many neuros & docs have different opinions about ms? Sh÷t it's like rolling the dice. I believe that WE MS'rs know more about ms. We do lots of research & speak with people, THEN we have our bodies explaining the crap to us. Maybe one day docs & neuros will understand & believe the crap our bodies do to us. Just my opinion peeps.

Has anyone heard of any doctors or a neuro that actually have MS? That would be someone I would want to treat me.

                  Lamar Freed...M.D. Has MS

Lamar Freed has MS and has written the best paper on MS fatigue that I have ever read. I have posted about it many times. Use your new Google friend! Just put Lamar Freed fatigue in the search box and you should easily get it.

If we did not have patients willing to take a risk or researchers willing to keep investigating then I would be in a real mess. I benefit greatly from what they do. The neuro I see is also great. He listens to me and we consult with others when we are at a crossroad.

I remember Dr. Freed. He did right an excellent fatigue article. Great memory Laz. I knew there was a doctor but couldn't come close to remembering who it was.

Me shmart, me look for things.

I will look up Dr. Freed tomorrow. Tonight, I'm watching Hendrix in concert. His was the first album I bought at the tender age of 16. I still love his music.

Wow! Heartbreaking! Just goes to show introducing one substance into the brain and/or body can really throw the whole system off. I'm so sad for all of the people in the trial especially the person left brain dead.

My whole life dealing with docs and physical therapists for my Cerebral Palsy. My friends with CP and I tend to pick up things about each other that the docs don't pay much attention to. I think people in the medical community can learn a lot from people who actually have the condition(s).

This trial was based on a cannabis based drug. I can't imagine the dose they were given to kill him. I would hold the people who ran this trial legally responsible. They just wanted to push the limit to see how much was too much. They found out, at the expense of someone's life!
