Commentating seems to say that 3 boys will be it:

      With the three of us

It is now clear: we will definitely continue with three young little owl. As all get fledging and t.z.t. healthy pull into the world, so, M and V owl can be proud of the result of their efforts. And can we, steenuilbespieders, speaking of an excellent breeding success.
It has not yet. There waiting for us exciting weeks. I certainly do not want to be morbid, but there is obviously still a few things go wrong. So we have to be realistic.

For the time being, however, looks fantastic. M and V fulfill outstanding of their duties. And they can through one door excellently together. Well, not at the same time of course ... So notice we do not need to fear a lack of food. The closet is filled with mice 'on reserve', also called the refrigerator. M can even afford a lark (see video Roundtrip Mouse). Hopefully, the mice mode continues for the rest of the infant period up to standard. A regular supply of mice offers the best guarantee for a successful rearing of three boy toward young adults who later in the wide, sometimes able to maintain evil world.

We are now waiting for the opening of the eyes of the youngsters. That happens in the course of the day 9/10 Monday a.s. the young will be the first person to watch some of their surroundings. Their weight is then between 10 and 12 grams at birth has grown to about 85 grams. That weight is more than double before they are uitvliegklaar. Matter of good eating.

We go on day 10 also bid farewell to the endearing fuzz ball stage. After this weekend the three increasingly become more like real owls. Provided that it continues to go well .... now, I have confidence in there!
But pics still shows 4th egg still, so, you never know. LOTS of food available!

Thanks for posting the translated account. Computers have a way to go before they can match human translators, heh heh. But it's good to know that mice are readily available for food.

Nothing like a tasty little rodent.

You try it first, ANN. Let us know how it tastes!

Yes, if you look at the 2nd room of the screech owl condo, they've got a fair bit of food all lined up!

Yes, the attempted translation is quite comical!

Just loving mama's little cooing and twitching and funny noise-making. Very adorable. Can't say I've seen papa in a while myself.

Do you suppose Dad is away handing out cigars at the local birdbath?

Let's just say that the barn owl dads have a much higher favorability rating on match.com.

And here's our darling growing, furry brood of 4 owlets of Dottie and Dash, our Texas barn owls and great parents (except for the little incident of infanticide and cannibalism of one of their tiny ones after the siblingicide occurred to the other).

Wonder if the babes will soon be ready to fly the coop?

Although it's apparently the screech owl mates who are getting more "dates" on tinder.
