My Tom Cat is a former surfer from New Jersey. He has told me tales about his days surfing the storm surges during hurricane season, plus the one time when one of his friends had a shark take a bite out of his board.

Personally, I'm from southern California, but I have never surfed. My dad was a sidewalk surfer from the mid-60s, using a home made skateboard.
