So Jeanie, now that we know you drove a motorcycle and flew an airplane, you have got mine and Suze's curiosity up. What else have you done? That means you were a pretty adventuresome young lady so there must be lots of stories you can tell us.
:) I have had an interesting life for me even though I have had MS over 50 years. Before my brother died in '91 he gave me his motorcycle. I had been a long distance and racing bicyclist and had had to quit that. The motorcycle was too big and I dropped it a lot. That is when I met David as he had an ad running an mentioned motorcycling as a hobby.
I called and we met for dinner and he came over that Saturday and we went riding. I dropped it twice and we came home. He said I needed a smaller bike, so I sold that one and bought a Honda Rebel. I dropped that too. (Denial that my left leg was so weak.) I bought a side car and it would not fit on the Rebel so I sold that and bought a used Sportster. On our first ride to breakfast I flipped over to the left and the weights we had in the side car flew all over.
David decided I needed a tryke. So we traded the sportster to a lady who had most of the parts for a Harley tryke. We had boxes of parts and it did not look like a bike to me but David said it was mostly all there and it would be a good start. It was a 62 55 cu in flathead. However he had to rig a suicide shift since my left toe could not shift.
I rode for about a year until I had to start using a scooter. I folded my small house scooter and put it in the box on the back. But I could not see in the rear view mirrors with the box lid up. So I gave up riding. I did get to do Daytona that year though.
I started taking flying when an MRI showed central auditory nerve lesion and I wanted to learn while I could still hear.
I was a MICU RN at a local hospital. I was in Toastmasters and won TM of the year one year. I led a MS support group weekly for 11 years. I was a PTA president, carnival chairman and room mother. I played tennis 4 timea a week and gave lessons. I went country western dancing several nights a week.
Most of my time now is either sleeping or on the computer. I miss a lot of the things I used to do but I am ok with just not progressing thanks to LDN. I really look forward to checking this board every day and knowing all of you. You are like my family. Jeanie :)

Another wow Jeanie!! What an interesting and busy life you have had. We would all like to hear some of the things that happened to you during this time. I assume that much of that time you were in pretty much complete remission. I know you would have enjoyed the dancing. I use to shag a lot, usually a couple of nights a week. Really fun. You really met some nice people I am sure doing the things you did. Knowing you I bet you still keep in contact with some of them.
:) I did write a book but I never had it published. It was on floppy disks on an old computer. I printed out 2 copies and still have those but it would need editing as that was a long time ago. The title was Triple Whammy - Growing up Catholic, Sexually Abused and the Child of an Alcoholic.
Writing it was cathartic for me, but I do not think my family would like it published. My sons will come across it when I am gone and they can chuck it or publish it.
When my brother Richard died in '91 he gave each of his siblings money. That and selling his bike is how I got the money to do the bikes. 23 years with David managed to go through the rest of the money as he liked to spend money.
Because my house and van are paid for I manage on the money I get now.
My neighbors all have fireworks and poor Lacy is so scared and shaking so much. I will be glad when Tuesday comes. Tuesday will be Andy's birthday and it also was Jamie's birthday. They were 5 years apart. Jeanie :)
:) Hi everyone. Already in the 90's today and supposed to feel like 105. Needless to say I am not going outside.
Andy came about 11 and mowed the yard and blew off the driveway. I got up with him then went back to bed and slept until 4 PM. About once a week I need the extra hours of rest. Mainly when I have not gotten to sleep when I get in the bed and lie awake for hours.
Is it just me or does it seem like several regulars here are not posting? I hope they are just busy doing fun things.
Did my post kill this thread? Take care everyone and stay cool. Jeanie :)
