BBS, I believe the working theory about why IVIG may work for some MSer's is that it overwhelms the immune system by an external influx of antibodies causing it to plummet.
That's interesting, but it's hard to buy that theory.

Desperate people will try anything. I have no idea if I'd want this and hope I never have to decide. But I have noticed that I'll do things I wouldn't have thought I was capable of doing if I'm desperate.

Maybe people in wormy countries don't get MS because their lives are so short. And, they cannot afford to see doc's to get diagnosed anyway.

BBS, a good point. They probably could not get diagnosed due to lake of medical care in countries where this might be prevalent.

Agate, it seems that my desperation and willingness to change what I might think about doing, changing with the MS.

I think I'd rather try a fecal transplant, likely in the form of an enema(?) that's been properly sanitized in some way than many of the standard MS treatments that have such severe risks, even though unlikely to occur, attached to them.

This at least seems safer since our colons are populated with microbes, albeit different varieties, to begin with.

I take probiotics that essentially is the same idea.

I agree, Sally, experiencing a scary and debilitating MS event is quite a motivating factor that makes us far more willing to take chances and try treatments we would not have contemplated before when our disease was more stable!
