so I don't know what happened to her, but I suspect she's pretty colorful by now! :)
    --and full of holes too!

Howie, I looked up some of the beauty patches on French royalty in the 1700s, and yes indeed. In fact, some of those cosmetics used in the patches had lead in them, and so the people may have ended up with some ghastly neurological problems.

Peg, you set off a fire alarm???

Well, I didn't waste my day today. I went to the store and took my change for the counting machine, and the few dollars I had, and now I'm set until payday. Also made coleslaw which I'll eat shortly.

Then I went in my junk room, and finished tearing up my beer boxes, and putting the pieces into other boxes, and just need to carry those to the dump next time I go out. My junk room is back to being my spare car parts room.

Time to eat, I'm actually hungry tonight! Enjoy your evening everyone!

Tattoos? I have one, by my right ankle. I'm planning on getting 2 more as memorials for my sister and Tom. I got my first one 20 years ago, a lot has happened in those 20 years, including getting dx with MS. My ears are pierced, too, but no other body modifications.

Actually, I had chicken and dressing, coleslaw, and for bread, I cut a wheat English muffin in half, butter them, and in the toaster oven. And as always, soy milk to drink. Dessert was a few Vanilla Wafers. It all filled me up as it should!

[ Yes, I went to one leaf-watchers, near me in Indiana. It was nice, we had a good time, and it was half-way between me and my brother, so he came up to spend a few days with us at the same place, after the Leafwatchers was over. I still blame Peg for setting off the fire alarm, though.....[/QUOTE]//

You stick to it Peg! I heard something about that when I went to the one I attended.

Well, I was going to post more, but I looked at the time and I just must go wash the make-up off my face, and then of course put some moisturizer on for the night.

I was going to the first one in Boone, and my brother was coming down and going with me. He had his stuff in the car, and we were taking my stuff to the car, and Seven ran past us, out the door, and ran full blast to the shed around back, and ran under it.

It's built on a platform about 6" off the ground. She positioned herself dead center of it, and you couldn't get to her. I begged and pleaded with her, would come back in the house awhile, then back out.

I tried treats, and sweet talking, and nothing worked. She is an indoor cat, and I wouldn't just leave her out for the weekend. So we finally gave up, and just went out to eat a nice meal. When we got back, I was finally able to get her to come out, but by then, it was too late to drive to Leaf Watchers.

I never tried to go to any others.

Howie, I remember that. It actually was the one I attended and was not right in Boone as the first one had been. I can't remember the name of the pretty little town it was located in, but it was in Virginia and the morning my friend and I left we had breakfast with everyone, then rode over to Boone. It was so close. Then we drove home to Raleigh all in one day. When I got there Laurel told me what had happened to you and I was very disappointed that you did not get to come. She had already talked to you on the phone.

And now that energetic little rascal is old, and in her final years, and can't run now if she wanted to. But cat daddy still loves her, as I did back then. If I didn't, I would have gone to the LW, but couldn't do that if I wanted to.

I remember that Laurellynne was in charge of Leafwatchers--or maybe only some of the get-togethers?

She was an optician or optometrist or optometrist's assistant--I'm sorry I can't remember except that she was knowledgeable about optical questions.

Yes she did work in an office, though when I met her she was not working. She was also knowledgeable because she had eye problems due to her MS. She told me that XO had helped her get an appointment somewhere with a specialist - I can't remember where. He was so helpful to everyone. Laurellynne's husband was very nice. He worked in law enforcement. He got along real well with my friend that I was seeing. It was a congenial group to say the least.

Laurel had booked an appointment for dinner in a restaurant and when we got there they would not take us. I can't remember if they were going to close or if they did not have enough seating. Anyway, it was a very small place and we didn't know of any restaurants. They told us about one just down the road which was nicer than the one we were in, but said they were booked up every Saturday night and this was Saturday night. My friend got on the phone and before anyone knew what had happened we had an appointment at the other restaurant and later we were all glad. It was very nice. So he was the hero that night, which of course he liked. My friend later remarked to me that all the men just seemed to be concerned husbands. Laurel was obviously a very conscientious person and was apologizing, and of course it was not her fault. So I was glad he stepped up and handled it as well as he did.

I just had a major accomplishment, well for me anyway.

My electric company went paperless a few months ago. Well I could never navigate their site, and could only find where to pay, but not to see what the actual bill was. So each month, I paid $100 without seeing the actual bill.

So today, I called them and explained my situation, and you can bet I played my trump card, maybe several. I asked her what I owed altogether, and she says $6. I almost laughed I was so relieved.

She explained what I needed to do to have one click, and see my bill from now on, and past bills, and anything I needed to know. So now I'm the cool, hip, up to date man.
It was such a relief because I was afraid I owed hundreds by now.

Time to pop a beer, and get ready to eat. Have a great evening everyone!

That's great news, Howie. I wish I could say I was as thrilled with my electric bill.

It just went up by $17/month and will stay that way for a year. Every year it gets recalculated based on usage over the past year. The past year included an abnormally cold winter, and I didn't feel like shivering through it.

So now I'm paying the price. Nobody I can blame here but the weather.

I have foud that if I can't deal with a Website in some way, usually I can find someone to explain what I need to do if I call.

I ran into that problem with online shopping at the Safeway. I couldn't log in very well until I made a call and someone told me the best route to take. I needed to make sure I was going to the "official site" for Safeway, then click "Grocery Delivery," then click "sign in." There's sometimes a series of steps you have to go through, and once you know them and go through them, the problem is gone.

I saw that electric bills, across the US in general, had gone up. Why you ask? Because the electric companies can. The last time we got a SS raise, my electric bill went up the very same amount. It was in my hand for 15 seconds!
