    Surfing tomorrow.

Today I washed my hair, fixed hair, put on make-up and dressed. Then I went to pick up my fabric that I ordered for upholstering I am going to have done.

After that I went to grocery store and walked all over that.

I came home and got groceries out of car and put them away. It had been dark and thunder in the distance, but I felt I needed to get the 3 rolls of fabric out of the car. I took my Dolly Trolley and tried to put the largest roll on the thing at the bottom that things sit on without a bag on it. I couldn't get it to stay on so I had to leave the Trolley and just try to carry the 25 yards of fabric in the house with no help. Then I went back for the one that I have 9 yards. I was expecting it to be much lighter, but it was heavy. Must be heavy material. Then I went back for the third one that has 10 1/2 yards. It was pretty light and not as hard to get in.

With getting groceries in, and getting all the fabric in, all in all, I made either 5 or 6 trips out to the car and back. I was dragging and I still am. I don't imagine that I will be doing anything tomorrow.

Right after I got the last roll of fabric in the rain started, it was heavy and lasted a long time. I was so glad I had everything out of the car and in the house and so glad to be home.

Yesterday I did something I haven't done in a while as the weather was always too warm. Yesterday it was only around 80', and in the evening I walked around the neighborhood for 25 minutes with the rollator.

I was wearing my rx sunglasses as usual but at that time of day, when the sun is bright, I can't see in some situations even with the sunglasses. It's a tad risky if cars are coming from several directions but now that I'm aware of that problem, I can make sure I shield my eyes with my hands at the top of the glasses frames. That corrects it.

One problem with that is that I need to operate the rollator with just one hand. It's possible but not so easy.

My steps yesterday amounted to 2,363.

I've had some stiffness, but it wasn't so bad as it has sometimes been.

You ladies are making Howie, the slug, look bad. Shame on you both.

I'm just watching TV. I drank beer this evening, hoping it would make me sleepy. Took one of my sleep meds, went to bed, lights out, eyes closed, and waited, and waited, nothing.

So I got up and made coffee since it has been making me sleepy lately. This is my second mug, and nothing yet. So be it. I haven't seen this movie before, so why not.

It MIGHT be an old sci-fi movie, but so far I don't think so, we'll see.

Sam is asleep on HER sofa in the living room. Sci-fi scares her, so she left me. The weekend is here. It's not the same as when I worked, but I'll try to enjoy it.

          G'night sleepyheads.

Virginia, my legs and arms are tired just reading of your day. You must have really had to push yourself to get all the fabric up the steps and into the house. Good job. Take today off.

Agate, I'm glad you took that walk. It is difficult w/o sidewalks and I think the road slopes down on both sides so you can't walk on the very edge. Over 2300 steps!

I did as little as possible. I had a date for supper and a trip to a craft store w Peter. He was the one who wanted to go to the store. He had a 40% off coupon to Michael's. One item only. He wanted a new Micron pen. When we got there, I looked up and saw that it eas an AC Moore.

Husband was not daunted. He looked on web and found new coupon for 55% off one item!

I just walked there and in large grocery - just gor the airconditioned walk.

Ann, those stores are very hard even just to stand around in. You did very well.

Agate, you are amazing. Are you sure you have not been put through the Crispr that was talked about in Nuthatch's thread? That is a lot of steps. I hope you are not suffering from it today.

Well, I have just been sitting all day. I am sore all over, but especially my legs.

Howie, I would probably be on the couch with Sam if it is a scary movie.

It was a bright, sunny and Florida hot morning. The waves were barely rideable due to size, ankle to knee highs. No wind and water was translucent. There were 4 of my crew today. I was able to walk down the boardwalk to the ocean carrying my longboard! Leaving, though, DH Wheeled me back to the showers. Very few people in the water today due to poor waves.

The ocean was cool for July, @80, so we didn't overheat.

I caught a bunch of waves, 4 standing. When it's so small, the wave breaks very shallow. So, the smaller ones, I rode lying down so as to not break my neck, or worse, my fin.

One was pretty satisfying. It was a nice knee high. I spotted it, paddled for it, shouted out, "I got this one" so my buddy wouldn't not see me and try to take it and hit me... then the board accelerated and lifted, I popped up, leaned left and rode down the face of the wave to the left. I am itching for some bigger waves. Maybe it's good it's small for now while I try to heal.

On the one hand I am glad can still do this. OTOH, when there I feel sadness and frustration about the huge loss of skill.

Resting the rest of the day now.

You know, there are rules about whose wave the wave is. Just like there are rules of the road. Except it's the honor system. It's all regulated by the people on the ocean, just like kids regulate each other in street stickball. It took a while for me to figure the rules out.

I notice knee bruises now. I must be screwing up the pop up. Your knees shouldn't touch the board. Will pay more attention to that next time.

I don't surf but I do feel that way about many things.

I guess we all have lost certain things, but you can't dwell on what's lost, or you can really get yourself feeling down. But there's more than one way to skin a cat (sorry Sam) and you keep going. Never give up!

BBS, what a morning. Glad you were able to walk down the boardwalk. Also, it was nice hearing you tell about catching the waves. I can see where there has to be some rules pertaining who takes which wave. I would think it would be pretty easy to get hit or hit someone else. Very interesting. You do have fun!

Never thought about it but it wouldn't do to have two surfers colliding in a wave!

SAM--yes, you, Howie's cat, not Peg's dog named Sam--are you sure you want to stay with this guy? He's talking about skinning cats, you know.

Time to look for a desirable new home, Sam.

Here, kittykittykittykittykitty! You'd really enjoy working for me, Sam.

I guess it's time to give these underwear a good hand washing. SAM....oh Sam....now where did she run off to?

Yes, those collisions happen more than you would think. My buddy took out a chunk of tissue from a dudes leg.

Another buddy carved up her friends board majorly in a crash.

Some dudes purposely "drop in on you" , others do it accidentally, and some do it as they're clueless.

Some "snake" a wave. You're in position, and it should be your wave. Snaker paddles over to take over your position, essentially stealing the wave.

And the top dogs get their waves, period. I always pull back if I see the top dog wants the wave.
