I would like to add a 2nd airing of grievances please - this one is the Post Office. If y'all remember I went one week recently without mail. I did not get any mail from Tuesday until Tuesday. I called the Post Master to get my mail and I only had some catalogs and a couple of other pieces. I knew this was not right. So.....I did not get Christmas cards from people that always send them out. I confirmed it last night with one of my sister-in-laws who never fails. That means that there may also have been other important business mail that I am missing.Virginia

I promise this will be my last airing of grievances (no matter what else comes up). I have had problems off and on with my maid just not showing up and not bothering to call. I told her if she could not make it to call me no matter the problem. So then she started calling (most of the time) but it might be 10 minutes before she was due or 10 minutes after she was due. When she came two weeks ago I told her that this week fell one day after Christmas Day and she may not want to work. She assured me that she planned to work on the 26th. She said she was taking Saturday, Sunday and Monday but would be here on Tuesday. Guess what? No Laura and no call. I have really worked today and I still have to mop and vacuum tomorrow.
That is all the grievances I will air!!!Virginia

I'd say that you have a very legitimate grievance, Virginia. People who are supposed to be providing a service and don't show up or even call are a major grievance of mine, too.
The curtain cleaning guy, for instance. He showed up and took the curtains away, and he showed up more or less on time to bring the clean curtains back and hang them. But he still needed to treat them with a steam process and--oops!--he'd have to come back the next day when he had the right equipment with him.
I don't understand why he didn't travel with the equipment in the first place since it seems to be a process he does routinely. So the next day I had to wait around for him to call to let me know what time he'd be here and then wait around for him to be here at that time, and he was late.
Not that I was going anywhere but I couldn't even go down the hall to do laundry most of the day. At least he did show up.
Once I'd scheduled professional carpet cleaning (a truck-mounted steam process), and rearranged everything in my apartment to make that possible, waited all day for them, and they never came. I was really ticked about it.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.
