It's in the mid 90s here! HOT, especially for this time of year. Tom Car was supposed to be camping until tomorrow; he called about an hour ago to tell me they had broken camp early, sent everyone home, as it was just too hot! He was about half way home when he called so probably about 2 hours away, now.

We have central air, here, so I'm comfortable, but I just opened the front door and it's hot, alright!

TC and I are preparing to celebrate our 50th anniversary this Friday. Well, actually while we were married on June 1 we're actually celebrating on Saturday when we're taking his sister and her husband, and his best man and his wife, to dinner in the next town. It's a Philippine restaurant, with really good food, so I hope to have a good time. I'm not worried about us and our best man and wife: we've all been friends for more than 50 years, they're our ndighbors, she's Filipino....it's TCs sister and husband. They're 85...don't know if they'll be ok with it. I know they eat Chinese food. There are things on the menu that are near that...so I hope so!

    Nothing much happening here, otherwise...

That sounds exciting Cat! Your weather went from freezing cold to Florida hot!

We’ve been having some brief monsoon like downpours from tropical storm Alberto today. Luckily it did not interfere with swimming! It is very beautiful to watch but I imagine it’s not so beautiful if your roof leaks! I imagine that Jeanie is getting More rain down her way.

I also can relate to that on a different but similar issue. Leaving our four-story home is very difficult since we raised the children here and we have been here for 31 years in this house. It’s in the middle of heavily lushly wooded acreage with no neighbor in sight, like being in s jungle. I will miss that.

But such is life, the carousel does not go on forever. I try to focus on what’s is still wonderful.

Howie, next time you cant sleep try this, it’s hypnotic, restful. Practice it multiple times per day so you can easily slip into a trance at night. And knock off caffeine after noon!

            Cat,
We have the same anniversary! For David and me it will be 43 years. Congratulations on golden anniversary. We are driving up to NH that day and have reservations in a sweet little eclectic "Gypsy Cafe". The walls are hand painted murals and all of the tables are mosaic inlay done by the family that owns it. Mom (79 years old) is the hostess and her son (54) is the chef. The menu regularly sports greek, asian and american foods but there is always a quirky special that has been wonderful whenever we have tried it. I love their fiddlehead fern soup which should be coming to the menu shortly.

David has not commented on the aroma yet, but there is a strawberry rhubarb pie in the oven.

Thanks Cherie. I did get a long nap today, and will hit the bed early tonight. I've had the "no coffee after 12" rule for a while. It just didn't make any difference last night. Guess I'll never know why.

Hope all of you are having a nice Holiday week-end. I went to Grayson's (nephew) house today. He texted his Mom on his way home from Texas a couple of day ago and said he wanted everyone to get together at his house today. We had barbeque, slaw, potato salad, mac&cheese, baked beans, rolls, banana pudding, and a chocolate desert that is fixed in the fridge with Oreo cookies on the bottom. So good.

Also, his grandmother (my age) had a stroke about 3 months before he bought his house and since she still cannot walk she and his Granddad had never been in it or seen it. They came today and Grayson and his older brother just picked up the wheelchair with her in it and took her up the front steps. She was able to see the first floor and his Granddad was able to see all of the house and the back yard. She seem to enjoy it and I was glad to see them there. I think everyone enjoyed it. I walked all over the back yard for the first time. I had been on the enclosed patio, but not the outdoor kitchen. So I walked over that area and around on both sides.

Today, I have a head cold, but feel restless. It is raining again, but that doesn't bother me. I think I am just not comfortable because of not being able to breathe good. Guess I will try to order a book on Kendle and read a bit, or I might just sit and maybe listen to a little music.

I put my pork tenderloin on in the crock pot this morning, so I will have that and fix some potatoes and broccoli to go with it. It will last a few days if I don't feel like cooking.

Hope all of you are having a good Memorial Day. Glad my cold held off long enough that I could join my family yesterday. Today, I would not feel like going.

Colds are the pits. Might it be kicking up asthma? Asthma can make you feel restless....

Oh, I almost forgot - I must tell all of you that I fixed the audio on my computer. Several days ago they updated it overnight once again. Anyway, for some reason after that I had no audio. I had gone into settings once before, and did a troubleshoot. It said it was unplugged from the computer. Well nothing, that I could find was unplugged. Finally, I went back in today and I looked at where they had the setting for the audio and I thought, that isn't right, I don't have that on my computer. So I changed to where I thought my audio came from and went into something that had audio and there it was.

Howie, do you think I am progressing?

Virginia, you did good. I remember my sister telling me when I first got online, "You can't do anything to damage a computer by pushing the wrong button. Anything you do, can be undone. Don't be afraid to explore anything about what makes the computer do what you want it to do". Good advice that I've found to be true.

What I hate is when I think I have my computer set where I want it....and then somehow, overnight, a setting gets changed. When I log in the next day, something is askew, and I didn't do it, don't know how that happened. None of the cats will confess to meddling with it, and I know TC hasn't touched it (he's a computer-phobe), so how did that happen??
