          Enjoy the visit, Sunshine!

How's the new house coming along? I'm excited for you.

Glad you're not in any fire danger, nuthatch!

Nuthatch, so glad to hear from you. There was a great deal of concern regarding the fire. We never know if you are alright or not. You did not help me feel any better about my eye when you said six months. Mine does not appear to getting that much better and I have put so many hot compresses on it that now my eyelid appears to be peeling from the dryness. I am continuing to do everything he told me to do, but getting a wee bit discouraged.

That was a funny video of Tom Cruise. I really enjoyed that.

              Hope California cools off soon.

Nuthatch, thanks for posting that Tom Cruise video. Very funny. I've never even flown, so I would be just as scared jumping out of a plane.

Virginia, I don't think you should overdo the hot compresses. For many years I've had to do that hot compress and eyelid cleansing routine. I do this in the morning, adding the eyedrops or gel for dry eyes after the eyelid cleansing. I use the dry-eyes drops or gel during the day and again at night.

Years ago the ophthalmologist who instructed me in this routine stressed that I should keep the compresses on for 5 minutes but I gave up on that immediately. I use the compress only for less than a minute. It was making my eyelids all red and flaky if I did the compresses longer.

Otherwise I've done the routine as instructed for many years. I gave up on the baby shampoo too though. I just dip a Q tip in hot water and clean both the upper and lower eyelids with it.

The diagnosis at the time was "meibomitis." There are tiny glands in the eyelids that can get clogged--meibomian glands--and some people have to keep their eyelids clear of debris in this way, to prevent styes.

I was getting styes, and sometimes the doctor prescribed erythromycin ointment. It worked so well that I keep an rx for it on hand at all times. The minute a stye starts, I'm on it with that stuff.
                  SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

                    nuthatch ~

I'm relieved that you aren't in the fire line. So, you know Idyllwild too? Such a lovely place.

Thank you for the heads up about solar panels. I mentioned this to Jim, and we both agreed that we can't afford solar panels and a generator. You can put what I know about this stuff on the head of pin and still have room for the Magna Carta. So, I Googled, and everything I read confused me more. I don't know where to start. I guess I'll start by calling our HVAC guy for recommendations.

                    Sunshine ~

                    What a treat! Enjoy!

I'm so sorry that your eye isn't improving. Perhaps you should call your doctor tomorrow?

I'm sure that your blanket is lovely and will be a treasured gift passed on through generations.

Agate, that is what I have going on with my eye I think, because he told me that their are thousands of tiny glands and that if one gets clogged this is what happens. That was good information you gave me. I am still on oral antibiotic, but think I will ask for a topical one also.

Virginia, my brother avoided the doctor for way too long. Sounds like you're on top of it.
Even though you can't go out to get a jigsaw puzzle, you can do lots of puzzles on-line. You can choose from 50 piece to 500 piece puzzles in a variety of scenes or subjects. The beauty of doing them on line is that you can never loose a puzzle piece! There's nothing worse than getting to the last few pieces to find you're missing a piece or two! The vacuum is often the culprit, or the dog or cat. My husband thinks it's funny to pocket a piece when I'm not looking, then calmly pop in the last satisfying piece after I've torn my hair out searching under the table for it. I'm on to him now. He's a dead give away because he can't hide that Cheshire mischievous grin!

Here's a site with lots of jigsaws to do. Enjoy.

It’s going up quickly. The drywall is up. Roof is up, all exterior doors are up. The exterior of house is being painted. Picked out tile and cabinets and counters, sinks etc...picked out colors for pool... Picking out wall colors today.

Aiming for Christmas move. Hurricanes could throw a monkey wrench into that...take it as it comes. Won’t be so trapped by disability in new house.

Nuthatch, thanks for the link. My problem is that I do not have a computer other than a desk top which I have to sit in a straight back chair to use. So doing too much on line is uncomfortable. I do not have an Ipad or laptop. Maybe someday, but not now. I have gotten interested in a book as of yesterday so that is helping some.

Sunshine, we want pictures when things get far enough along if you are willing to share.

Did not quite hit 80 here in Northern NH today. Dave did a bike ride from Cannon Mountain back to the condo (about 9 miles on the highway but 11 miles on the bike path/highway combined). Then after lunch I drove him down to an area of the river that runs behind us to where the water is deeper and put him in for a 6 mile run downstream that usually takes him 2.5-3 hour. He called me an hour and 20 minutes after I dropped him off to tell me he was already at the takeout. It is overcast and breezy here with moderate humidity but not oppressive heat. Another day then home.

                                Rose,
The owner of CannaCauses says he is convinced he can help me get off Ativan within a month by using a nectar that is predominantly CBD but also has THC. He is sending me a sample of 1:24 BUT ANOTHER OF 1:5 to try. His staff work to tailor their product to the individual needs of those coming to them. Who do you use and do they have a web site? I seem to have more and more docs asking me lately for reliable folks who do just this.
