G' morning all! I had a strange night. I went to bed after midnight which is 2 hours earlier than usual. So after just lying there thinking, I thought I would just watch a little more TV until I got sleepy.
I looked at my watch, and thought it said 1:15, so the last part of Outer Limits should be on. I turned the TV on, and there was no Outer Limits. So I looked at my watch again, and it was 7:15 AM.
I had no memory of sleeping, or of dreaming which are usually vivid. So I GUESS I slept. That has never happened before, and I hope it doesn't again.
I went to the store, and will go again Friday, PAYDAY, and start it all over again. Have a great day all!
"Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

I've heard of girls collecting yarn (I'm in danger of being one of them), pieces of fabric for quilts, tiny figurines, salt and pepper shakers, you name it.
In fact, if you've heard of the New England woman who had a container labelled "Pieces of string too small to use," that could be me except that I'm not in New England. I save left-over yarn. (You just never know when you might be able to work it into something.)
Every year or so I decide this is ridiculous and go through the yarn and toss out the obviously useless bits. But it hurts to do that.
Peter’s mom, like mine, went through the depression and WWII. Peter’s mom saves everything. And anything that is “free” she grabs extra. This includes straws, napkins, sugar, paper and plastic shopping bags and the plastic bags that are for produce. We understand why she does this but it drives us crazy. We will inherit closets full of this stuff.
Boys and their toys, indeed. TC has just assembled his newest toy -- a pole saw. Now, he already has two...but THIS one is "better", he says. Supposedly lighter weight, and longer. Oh well.
Howie, I don't know why you're worried about your sleep. Sometimes I dream, often I don't..but I do sleep. Sounds like you just went to sleep. That is a GOOD thing. Sometimes when you're overtired, or have had little sleep the last few days, you'll sleep heavily and not remember your dreams, too. That may also be what happened to you.
The cable guy is here right now, switching my cable from DISH to DIRECTV.... Ran into not one, but TWO hornet nests near where he needed to attach the satellite dish to the house. He came prepared -- insect "bombs" set off, a few minutes delay, then back at it. Hopefully he'll be done in time for us to get weather alerts for the "severe storms" that are supposed to be coming in this afternoon. It was storming here all night. There's a bit of a lull here right now...then more moving in.
Some of us older folks try to pare our stuff down, partly to simplify our lives but partly to make things easier for those who have to go through all of it after we're gone. Those two ideas keep me from saving every plastic bag.
I'd like to save boxes and mailing containers that anything arrives in. (Always handy to be able to find just the right box if I want to send something to someone...) I think I've finally curbed this habit. I have only a couple of them sitting around now.
I'm old enough to remember WW2 (sort of). Paper was very scarce.
Now that you mention it, I always saved boxes just for whatever resident cat was around.
A cat who is too big for a box will pour himself into it anyway, and it's hilarious to see most of the cat overflowing the box but the cat contentedly staying on there.
Photo is one I found amidst pictures I was scanning last month from my parents' stash. My youngest brother still has the Massey Ferguson 165 but wishes he had asked for the 185. This photo was taken sometime in the mid 60s.
David and I are home from NH. He nearly missed all of the major exits again today. In October we are driving to Saratoga, NY for my college reunion and then he has to drop me at the Albany airport to fly to DC for a three day meeting and drive the 4 hours back home alone. I am getting quite concerned. Tomorrow is the all day trial qualification visit.
Cherie, I wish you and David a safe trip tomorrow and I hope he gets in the trial. Maybe by October he will be (for some reason) feeling less stressed and will be able to make the drive.
Peg, you just can never have too many tractors. As a girl you should know that. lol
Things picked up a little in S.C. today. He had a bad start to the day, but this afternoon for the first time asked for a certain food which his daughter went out and got for him. He ate a whole BLT, some fruit and a can of ensure. In addition to that he allowed the TV to be on and the sound. This was first time for that also. She said prayers are working, to keep them coming.
