FOR ALL THE HENS - Re Howie!

Thanks to Peg and Agate we have been able to have limited word from Howie, but it had been awhile since either of them talked to him.

Today I called Howie and he is fine. Sam is also fine. His computer is in the shop. First they had to order a part, I think the fan or something and that took a long time to come in. Now the man just cannot get it figured out as to what is wrong with the computer. Howie, said he thought the guy was stumped. I asked Howie if he had any idea what he was being charged and he does not, but hopes it will not be an arm and a leg since the man has had it so long. All he has is a TV and he says he keeps it on mostly for the noise.

I told him I would call him about once a week until he is able to get back. He says this is the first place he will come. I think he has heard all the clucking even from where he lives.

P.S. I told Howie what had happened to Jeanie and that she had had a small amount of contact with Agate. He was really sorry to hear that.

What a relief--many many thanks, Virginia! It's good to know he hasn't run into health problems--or given up on us.

I hope he does go ahead and apply for that computer through the MS Foundation.

Thank you so much Virginia for posting this Howie news! I'm relieved that he and Sam are okay. It sounds like Howie does need to apply for an MS Foundation computer, if it's taking this long to fix his computer. Please tell him that the hens are clucking at him to do this pronto!

I did not mention it to him today, however Rose I did tell him that your husband wanted him back too, due to your clucking at him more with Howie gone. He laughed.

I have not listened well about the free computer program and I don't know how he would feel about applying for one. You know how stubborn he can be. But like all of you if there is such a program I think he needs to talk to them.

As the Grateful Dead sang...What a long strange trip it's been.

Thanks to Agate, Peg, and Virginia for the calls. I just got my computer back today, but I'm using an Ethernet cable to hook to the modem. My nephew is going to come by to fix it tomorrow.

I'm not going to stay online tonight, because I'm sitting on the living room floor to make the Ethernet cable reach me, and it's killing my back. So I'll talk more tomorrow. Have a great evening all!
