It's awful quiet in here. I guess, and hope, everyone is having a great Friday. I talked to my brother almost 2 hours. Cell phone saves me SOOOO much money compared to hardline phone service.
I'm watching Ghoulies, and I think Ghoulies 2 is next. Boo!

Yeah, but they should post. It keeps this forum alive. We want to know how their day went. Look at my posts. Boring really, but at least I post. If you read, then post, even if it's about nothing like my posts. It's important to tell about our daily lives. We want to know how others are doing, and at the same time dealing with this disease."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

It would be nice if more did post, more often, but you never know what situations people are dealing with in real life. Some people don't find it easy to write a post.
Some people here, like Howie, are keeping this place alive, and it's here for those who want to read and say something.
Anyone remember back when there were hundreds and hundreds of people here? Many of them come back now and then, sort of "old home week" for them, maybe. It would have been nice if more of them had stayed, but they didn't.
I've noticed that with modern technology, people move on easily to the next "fun" thing. I recall when VCRs were the rage. Now people are dumping their VCR tapes by the ton. We had a President who talked about his Blackberry. How often does anyone mention a Blackberry now? We have a President tweeting instead.
The big deal about 12 years ago was MySpace. You hardly hear of it now but you hear quite a bit about Facebook, which is very much like it.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

I still go to Facebook. I think it was you that steered me to try it. I hit the thanks or the laughter icon sometimes, but most of the time just read, and move on. I guess there are folks that do the same here, just read, and move on.
Well, I'm moving on to bed. I used to stay up until 2 or three, or all night, but now days, I shoot for 12. You have a great night Agate.

Quite a few people from this forum are also on Facebook.
Years ago, back when there were hordes of people on here, someone posted asking why people came here. I recall that there were quite a few different reasons, having to do with contact with other people, exchange of ideas, etc. I was surprised to find quite a few saying they came here for the information and nothing else. So there are those who just come here and read.
Howie, sleep tight and don't let the Ghoulies bite.

I’m here.
Sorry about Joe’s Aunt Mary, Peg, and I hear you about a long drive. No can do.
Thursday I walked to the corner and took a bus to the subway station near here. I went downtown for the first time in over 5 years - probably more. I needed to renew my bus pass. After that, I went up to the street and wandered around. It was a gorgeous day and there were street musicians playing. My calves got sore walking on concrete so I came home.
Earlier in the week I had to have the plumbers in for a leak. Yesterday was a walk and a hair appointment. Today is taking MIL shopping.
Have a good Saturday and weekend. Don’t forget the details on what you eat. It fascinates me right now.

Not sure this would have much appeal but at least it's a bit of filler for a post on a weekend when posts seem to be welcome.Don’t forget the details on what you eat.
What I eat:
BREAKFAST - typically - 4 oz. orange juice (the kind with added calcium)
cinnamon raisin English muffin with 1 tsp. butter (unsalted)
2 mozzarella string cheese sticks, the low-cal type
Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke
variants that are sometimes substituted for the muffin:
toasted slice of Dave's Killer Bread, the multigrain type, with 1 tsp. butter or apple butter (1 tsp.)
OR: serving of cereal with 1/4 c. 2% milk. The cereal might be bran flakes with a few raisins tossed in, or bite-size shredded wheat, or muesli (Bob's Red Mill), or Wheat Chex. Or oatmeal. Sometimes (in season) with blueberries or strawberries on top
OR: 1 oats and peanut butter "chewy bar"
LUNCH: about 5 crackers--Wheat Thins, Triscuits Thin Crisps
1 small container of lowfat plain Greek yogurt (Chobani, Kroger)
1 Viactiv chew (calcium + vitamin D)
Diet Pepsi/Diet Coke
Variant for the yogurt - half a tin of sardines, on top of the crackers
DINNER: 1 slice of pizza--Amy's has several types (one called "meatless Italian sausage"), or Freschetta 4-cheese OR a packaged meal like Annie's macaroni and cheese or Zatarain's red beans and rice, or black beans and rice, OR a MacDougall's dried soup (lentil, split pea)
vegetable--usually Kroger Italian-style vegetables (1.5 - 2 servings), or 1/3 lb. steamed fresh broccoli, or frozen cauliflower. Or sometimes a half acorn squash, baked with a dab of butter. Or occasionally a half ear of corn, with a bit of butter and lots of freshly ground black pepper
5.5 oz. can of low-sodium V8 juice
variants for the pizza: Amy's frozen meal (teriyaki bowl or penne marinara or brown rice, beans, and vegetables bowl) or Smart Ones Santa Fe rice and beans. Sometimes an Amy's burrito or samosa wrap
Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke
SNACK: 1 banana
(oops) a few cookies
another Viactiv chew
a couple of times a week, instead of the banana there are a few pitted dates or an orange or a handful of craisins
FOOD I TAKE WITH ME when going anywhere--small box of raisins, and if I have to miss breakfast because of a fasting blood test at the lab, I add a couple of cheese sticks and a chewy bar (Fiber One or Kroger is the brand)
Very occasional snacks - a few nuts (almonds, pecans, peanuts but any nut will do) or imitation bacon bits. After lunch I often have a teaspoon of natural peanut butter or almond butter
That's it for my food. Monotonous but easy. I've been eating exactly like this with hardly ever any change for many years.
There was a time when breakfast was always a fried or poached egg instead of cheese but I got even lazier. I keep eggs around though and every once in a while I hard-boil a few and have them at breakfast, lunch, or dinner instead of something else.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. I only eat one meal a day. Right now, and for a while to come, I'm eating the pasta I made the other day. And I'll have coleslaw which I always have. I bought vanilla wafers for dessert. And I drink soy milk.

I found that out too. If I eat more than 1300 calories a day, I'll put on weight. Someone in my category typically needs 1,600:Originally posted by Howie View PostI only eat one meal a day. Hi Everyone,
I came on a couple of times yesterday and didn't find anyone at all, so I just got huffy and left.
Actually, I went over to Rose's and read her post. I did my exercises yesterday and the day before, but only one time. I am supposed to do them two times, but it takes me between 40 and 45 minutes and I just don't think I need to devote that much time twice a day. Well, actually I do need to, but I don't want to.
Today I had a lazy start and did not get out of the house until 4P.M. I went to Harris Teeter and bought most of my groceries. I spent over an hour there. Then I went to Fresh Market and got my yogurt since Harris Teeter has not been carrying the kind I like lately. Then I went to Panera where I got my usual pick two a cup of soup and half a sandwich.
As for food:
Breakfast has been for a long time - one boiled egg, about 5 oz of diet cranberry juice
Lunch - 8 oz of low fat or fat free yogurt, one piece of dove dark chocolate
Afternoon snack - a banana or honey covered almonds or occasionally an avocado
Dinner - varies a lot. Sometime I make vegetable beef soup which I eat a couple of days. Sometime I make beef stew which I eat a couple of days. This week I am going to have chicken made with Sunshine's recipe of pesto, tomatoes and cheese. I sometime have a Marie Calendar frozen dinner such as Roasted Turkey with stuffing or Turkey with sweet potatoes or even her chicken pot pies.
Desert is always a Yasso frozen chocolate yogurt bar
Snack - A piece of gouda cheese with Strawberry preserves or peach preserves. If still hungry another handful of almonds.
This week I am doing something different. I bought cereal for the first time in a very long time. I also bought skim milk. So I will have cheerios with milk in the mornings.
I sometime eat peanut butter and crackers for night snack.
Actually, my diet is a little more varied than this because right now I can't remember what all I cook, but I know that sometime I fix things in the crock pot such as pork loin or potato soup. I started to make chicken soup this week, but decided that since I have to go out Monday I will wait. Also, I often fix salads with lettuce, tomato, red onion and then when I put it on my plate I add shredded cheese, Kalamata olives and the dressing.
Agate, you have a diet soda for breakfast!! I couldn't do that. I drink almost no soft drinks, mostly just water. However, I did leave one thing out, I have a cup of hot herbal tea when I have my night snack of cheese with preserves.Virginia
