P.S. I did change my own bed linens last night. Felt I had to. I cleaned the toilet in my bathroom this morning. Laura came today and moped the kitchen and my bath. So all the necessary spots that need to be cleaned are. That helps.

5th Harry Potter book is done and 6th is packed for the trip.
ANN,
Uber is $50 each way to the airport and we are paying $76 for 9 days parking. A win.
The sauce is simmering on the stove and chickpea pasta (gluten and corn free) is waiting to be cooked. We are all packed except David's CPAP and my make-up and ready to go. Heather and I got manicures and pedicures today. I am so ready for this break and actually starting to feel the fatigue lift as I am now 2 days into antibiotic. Thank you Lord!
I do not think I will have any chance on the ship (Saturday through Saturday) to check in here so don't send the hens looking for me.

It's good to see the hens have someone to check on besides me! Have a great trip!Originally posted by Cherie View PostI do not think I will have any chance on the ship (Saturday through Saturday) to check in here so don't send the hens looking for me."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

When I come on I feel like I am talking to myself. All I see is my name on every thread. I must be a terrible thread breaker.
Anyway, I hope everyone is alright. Ann would be taking care of her Mom, and Cherie is off having fun flying to her cruise ship. I wonder if Peg is helping with the farming, and maybe Linda is putting in peas.
Sunshine, I don't know. Just wondering if she had one of her procedures scheduled for today.
Of course we all know where poor Jeanie is and are just worrying about her. Agate comes on to keep us updated which we appreciate.
Howie is around and I am around. Nuthatch we saw a day or two ago.
Maybe someone will come back so I can stop talking to myself. Going back to my book. Finally, started one this afternoon and also put potato soup in crock pot.Last edited by Virginia; 04-12-2019, 12:20 PM.Virginia

I've been here, Virginia, but I do know how you feel. I don't know what has become of Catdancer but am afraid that the cyst on her scalp might have been more of a problem than she thought.
If you notice who's logged in at the bottom of the page, you'll find frequent names of people who've dropped by to read but haven't posted just then--in the last week I've seen several. And the number of people viewing has increased recently from around 200 to closer to 300.
I'm not sure who they are but this place must have had many hundreds of people here over the years, in those very busy days when this place moved so fast it was hard to keep up with it. At least some of them may be coming back here out of curiosity, just to see what's going on. Others may be trolls on the lookout for e-mail addresses.
This question--who those hundreds of people are who seem to be here every day but not saying anything--has come up before but nobody has ever figured out why they're here.
I'm talking about the notation at the bottom of the screen: "Users browsing this forum." Just now it's saying "There are currently 242 users." They could be people who are logged in as "invisible," and their user names wouldn't show up but they would be part of that total.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. You are right! John planted the peas yesterday. Sugar snap, snow and the kind you take out of the shell. We just got an email from UPS that our seed potatoes will arrive on Monday..that will be a 500 lb shipment so we have a lot to do!Originally posted by Virginia View PostWhen I come on I feel like I am talking to myself. First of all, someone please say something after this post so I will not be the only one showing on almost every post.
Ann, you didn't tell us how your Mom is doing.
Agate, I was just wondering if maybe some of those people are people like me who never log out even when I am not here. Cherie does the same, and I am sure many others do. I wonder if they are included in that number. When I looked it showed you, Ann and me and 221 others.
I sure hope you are wrong about Cat, but I fear for her. As far as I know we have not heard a word since she was to go have it removed and biopsied.Virginia

Linda, I bought 5 (count ‘em) seed potatoes.
Virginia, I was worried yesterday. Thought Mom would not make enough gains to live alone. Had no idea when I would ever get back to Boston.
Today is better. Mom was up most of the day in the recliner. I did the cooking, more laundry, the cat’s litter. I ordered meds for her. The visiting nurse came. She will come twice a week. There will also be a PT that Mom knows and an OT. I am hopeful that I can go home before Thursday’s CT scan.
Great news: Peter is coming down tomorrow and will be at the house by 10 AM! He’s staying until Monday night. Monday is his birthday. I am very happy about that.
Time to make some tea. Who want’s some?

My son and DIL and grandson are away for 4 days at the coast with DIL's family (parents, brother and his wife and 2 kids, plus two sisters of DIL's mother and maybe others--I don't know). They do this every year, renting a place for a few days or a week. Say what you want about Facebook but it certainly is nice to be able to see what they're looking at while they're there.
The Pacific Ocean is what they're looking at, and that is no small thing.
Virginia, you're right. We haven't heard from Catdancer since she was about to have the cyst procedure.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.
