Well, maybe Rose has more up-to-date information but her Facebook page states that it will be from 2 to 5 (Central Time) instead of 2 to 4.

Oops! I apologize! I must have been focused on 4:00 from the other posts about the time. So, the correct times would be:

OK, I'm connected to this meeting but am getting the audio only by phone. Occasionally I see some video of some of the participants who are talking. If you know how to get your computer camera to hook up to this, you can appear there in person too, i think, but I'm not that technically skilled to deal with the camera settings.

From Kim to Everyone: 03:28 PM

HI Joan and Jeanie I can see and hear but had not
            planned
From Me to Everyone: 03:30 PM
I wonder if there is a way to copy the Chat board and send it to Ralph because apparently they are not monitoring it.

Maybe he will see this here. 26 people are on the site. Jeanie :)

The sound has been cutting in and out on the phone for me, Jeanie, but I have a caption-call phone and that may be the problem. The conversation isn't coming through well on the phone screen. It keeps saying "Speaker is inaudible or unclear."

So I'll probably check out soon. It's been an interesting attempt at something that was very new to me.

That is so unfortunate that the participants were having problems with the sound and video. It was a wonderful concept to gather Ann's friends and loved ones to celebrate her life. It was so nice that quite a few people tried to join the chat. What matters most is that you came together to honor and remember Ann and to support Ralph in his grief.

Thank you for sharing with us.

For me, I had a problem right in the beginning, but then I straightened it out on my computer (found the right buttons to push) and I had good sound on my phone which I put on speaker phone and a good view on the computer. I had not planned to be on video because I am still not that familiar with that option on my iPhone.

It was interesting and I think Ralph could hear everyone pretty well, because when he had a problem someone would step in and get it straightened out. I know that he heard me because he responded to me and remembered who I was. I had to leave early because I wanted to go to the grocery store and I also wanted to mail some Christmas cards which I still had not done.

Edited to add: He was also hearing a number of others who were friends of theirs and seemed to be enjoying hearing from them. He became emotional one time while I was on, but quickly got himself together. Some of the people were very clear on the audio and a few on the video while I watched.

I had no idea of just what was I in for when I signed up for this. I've never been part of anything like this, where people who are participating are viewable in real time. For me it was a totally new and interesting experience even though it wasn't working so well for me, technically speaking.

I'm glad you said what you did, Virginia. You represented this forum very nicely, and it was good that we were represented there because Cat Dancer surely gave a lot of her time and energy to this forum.

Thank you Joan. After the 2nd time I spoke, which was to say a few words to him and to let him know I needed to leave, anyway I then later thought why didn't I bring up the Lazy Cooking with Cat thread and how long it has been around and how much we have used it. But I had already logged out at that time.

Virginia, maybe a transcript will become available later on?

I've just tried sending an e-mail to Ralph instead of using the Facebook message system. I used the most recent e-mail address I had for Cat, which I think is one she shared with him. So far it hasn't come back to me as undeliverable, but if he doesn't get it, I'll go back to the Facebook message system.

I told him what I think he needs to know about registering here, based on information I got from one of the moderators here.

He might have to sign up for a different e-mail address somewhere, but I mentioned Gmail and hotmail as a couple of ways to get pretty good e-mail at no cost.

I also mentioned that you wanted to let him know about the "Lazy Cooking with Cat" thread--and I included a copy of her first post in that thread, which she started exactly 4 years ago, on 12/16/15, as it happens.

It was such a good example of her style that I thought he'd like to see it in case he's having trouble finding his way around here.

Thanks for doing that Agate. I think he would enjoy knowing about that thread that Cat started and it will probably continue to go on and on here, as people pull it up to post a menu or look back at one they want to use.

I had not planned on speaking up the way I did, so had not planned one thing to say in advance. However, I wanted to make sure he knew we were represented. I did get a text from Nuthatch and while she still does not have internet, she was able to hear through her phone. I left about 4:35 or 4:40 my time, so there was almost another hour and a half to go. I wondered if anyone else from BT spoke after I left? Also, in your communication with Ralph please let him know that there was one other member who was able to hear the audio part, but due to internet problems was unable to be on the computer.

I left the phone after the first hour because I just wasn't hearing it well, with or without the muting that was suggested, and so I missed the rest of it but could follow the chat session on the computer screen. Occasionally I had a glimpse of some of the participants too.

Agate, Nuthatch did talk to Ralph. She says she was on early and talked to him for quite awhile. I think it was before they got set up good. So, not necessary to tell him she was there.
