Some recent step counts--using the new method of taking the average of the step count totals from the two pedometers. The newer one almost always (but not always) gives a step count that is higher than the old one.

    12/5 - 2,231 steps
    12/6 - 982 "
    12/7 - 1,552 "
    12/8 - 1,553 "
    12/9 - 1,405 "
    12/10 - 1,462 "
    12/11 - 1,447 "

Not quite as good as it looks, Virginia, because the newer pedometer is showing a considerably higher step count than the old one, and even though I'm taking an average, it still comes out to be a higher daily score.

One way of looking at this is to believe that the older pedometer was undercounting the steps, and this newer figure is right. I like this idea.

I have been swimming every day, just like always. But my walking is going bad again. Who knows why. IVIG all day Wednesday.

People are posting their “moving” on Chit Chat, but not here!

Makes people or readers think that only “exercise counts”, not other forms of moving?

              Moving today? So far I've:

--traveled to the dumpster (outside) and hoisted one bag of trash up and over and into the dumpster and sent several pieces of paper and cardboard into the recycling bin

--[can't think of anything else aside from making the bed and getting breakfast and washing those dishes]

Both pedometers are showing over 300 steps so far.

Great! It is a struggle in winter. It was 46° here today. I started the day by getting 3. Vehicles ready for an ice storm Tuesday. I have rituxan on Monday so had to ready thing early. I am hoping the storm is minor but if I don’t cover the vehicles with tarps it will be too late if the storm is worse than predicted!

Anyway, I covered 2 today and then watered one greenhouse....again, if there is ice I wanted to have it all set for a few days. I am rather proud of myself for being so physically active.

Now it is very dark and very windy outside. What big weather changes from day to day. It feels so odd.

Tomorrow is John’s 83rd birthday. I will be at my infusion and he will be getting a checkup with his primary care doctor. Birthdays aren’t what they used to be!

Linda, you are doing so great. That is hard work. Hope you and John are able to do something special for his birthday - if not tomorrow sometime in the near future.

Sunshine, you are always hanging in there doing really good.

Today, I mostly did nothing, but I did go to the new Food Lion that opened up about six weeks ago. I had not been and it is only, at most, 3/4 mile from my house. I ordered from Instacart yesterday and forgot one item that I especially wanted so I went to pick that up. I ended up walking over much of the store and buying more than I needed. So that walking was it for me today.

Linda, a happy birthday to John. Some people get less keen on observing birthdays as time passes but why not celebrate a bit? It's a nice distraction from the depressing notion that a person is suddenly a year older.

Linda, good luck at your infusion. Happy birthday to John.

Sunshine, I am sorry that your walking is not as good as it was. I hope your IVIG helps.

Agate, any walking helps and counts.

Virginia, I like walking in large grocery stores for exercise. They are cool in hot weather and a safe, non-icy place in the winter months. They are flat and if I happen to have a fall it would be witnessed and help would come.

Today I just did stairs as part of one load of laundry.

Today is Sunshine’s IVIG. I hope that is going well.

I walked all the way to my PMD and back today. I was kept waiting there for over 45 minutes. That’s uncomfortable for me in uncushioned seats. And my legs were very tight.

I got home and realized that I didn’t take my AM meds. That will do it.

Sunshine, with your IVIg yesterday and my rituxan on Monday we are both probably setting the world on fire today!
It is freezing cold here for the next 2 days but by Sunday it will be in the 40s and stay that way for several days. That will feel like a heat wave.

Take care everyone...spring is on the way!

I did my usual swim today.
The Ativan has become less effective, making the day much harder....

I swam the 1/2 mile 26 minutes. Stopped because there was supposed to be a rocket launch, but too cloudy even if it had gone up...

Trying to walk as much as I can without spasms.

Cutting back onthe Motegrity to see if the SE’s go away....

I did leg exercises standing and laying on the floor Wednesday. Thursday I went to get nails done and then to pick up some slacks that were being hemmed and then to the grocery store. Today I haven't done anything other than vacuum the floor downstairs because a neighbor came about 1:45 and left at 4:15.
