:) Andy came today and put out the trash. He also gassed my van and grocery shopped for me. I am still in my pajamas. Just taking it easy. Jeanie :)

The music with that song kind of reminded me of the music that Sunny and Cher use to use when they sang "I got You Babe". Kind of hypnotic.

Have not slept well in two nights. I have a UTI. I was so dizzy when I got up this morning that I laid back down for a long time. Got up and called Dr's office about the UTI that started night before last. Could not get in today, so finally I called back and told them that there was no way I could go through the week-end, that I would see anyone, a Nurse Asst or another Doctor but I needed help. So they booked me with another Doctor for 2 this afternoon.

When I got there one of the ladies behind the check in counter looked at me and said "Are you dizzy?" I told her I was. She jumped up and put a plastic bracelet on my wrist that said Falls Risk. They did a urinalysis and new Doctor saw me and faxed Rx in to pharmacy. After I left I went to grocery store and picked up just a couple of items then went to Pharmacy to pick up my medicine. They are closing down for good on January 2nd, so I asked if I had any other Rxs that could be filled by the end of the year. She checked and filled 3 more while I waited.

I then came home, checked mail and got inside. I have already started my medicine and I am so tired. Just hope that I get some sleep tonight.

Neighbor who came up yesterday and stayed awhile called me this morning. She works but is off this week and said she would take me to Doctor. I told her I would be alright. Actually, I felt very unsteady at that time, but got a little better later on. She works hard and is not a young person and I wanted her to have as much of her day as she could to do whatever she wanted to do. I knew football was on and she loves to watch football games.

Well, off to wash face, give shot and then sit down to read awhile.

I hope you're getting better, Virginia. Dizziness along with the UTI must be miserable.

It was very kind of you to turn down your neighbor's offer of a ride out of consideration for her. You might be surprised at how many people are so far from being that considerate that they sometimes act as if neighbors ought to give them rides when they ask. I hope you aren't being so kind that you're turning down offers of help all the time. I think that's a trap that many with MS are apt to get into.

We have years of MS behind us and we've learned that tasks that are easy for other people aren't easy for us but on the other hand we hate to be depending on other people for help so much of the time.

It's a sticky wicket as people used to say. I'm noticing how my 97-year-old neighbor does things. If a neighbor has gone out of his/her way for her, maybe by providing rides or running an errand for her, she occasionally buys them a bouquet or a plant. She offers to pay for the gas if she gets a ride with a neighbor.

Stayed in bed all morning and I am doing nothing but reading this afternoon.

Some day I will tell y'all about my Christmas, which was just awful. Right now I am just trying to get over it and the things that were said to me.

Sending healing prayers that the meds work quickly to cure the UTI. I'm so very sorry that your Christmas was ruined by someone's thoughtless words. Whatever was said reflects on the person, who said it, not you. You are a wonderful person, so please do not allow those words to continue to hurt you.

We can pick our friends but we can't pick our relatives as somebody said. My parents moved far enough away from the relatives they didn't get along with that we hardly ever saw the hurtful ones but when we did, it was stressful. There was my mother's sister, who was known for her tactless remarks. Often they weren't just tactless--they were pretty clearly malicious. She and her husband lived thousands of miles away but they did travel, and every once in a while they breezed into town and visited us. It was always hurtful for my mother, and my father took refuge in his studio all the while.

Your family clearly believes in lots of family get-togethers, Virginia. Maybe you could gradually take less and less of a part in them?

It's sad that they said hurtful things at the time of year known as the season of good will.

Oh Virginia, a tough week for you for sure.

This is your second UTI in a month, right? Maybe the first one wasn’t killed off?
Maybe time to ask , insist on, a referral to a urologist?

I feel like a UTI expert with my experiences this past year.... After all the tests, Iwent on daily Ellura (OTC order amazon), daily Nitrofurantoin, an antibiotic rxd by the urologist, and Uroxtraxal which corrects the dyssynrgy between the extruser/detruser muscles, causing the urethra to shut when it should open, causing urine to backup and be prone to infection, compromising the kidneys eventually.

This is a common problem with MS...

Also, UTI’s are getting harder to treat, so prevention becomes important too...

Be well, rest rest and rest. Shut out the world of negativity for now...

Sunshine, I hope the pain won't last. Maybe the neuro will have some new ideas for ways of avoiding these bad spells. You're certainly making every effort to stay fit, seems to me.

Tomorrow is my second rituxan infusion of this go around. And, as it was for the first infusion in this cycle...there is supposed to be an ice storm during the morning hours. In the 20 years I have been doing one infusion or another I never had a snow day. Never missed one. My luck seems to have run out.

Sorry you are feeling unwell. I hope we both get infusions tomorrow and w e both get a lot better.

So sorry about your bad weather, Linda! Does the infusion center have a plan in place for snow days by any chance? Even if it's just making rescheduling as easy as possible for you, that might be a help.
