If anyone wants a trip down memory lane, just read the thread from 2016 that someone brought up recently. I believe that the someone was a spammer (the moderator deleted that person's link) but you'll find many familiar members posting there. It's sad that so many are no longer here but it's also interesting that back then there was a looser atmosphere about posts involving politics.

Howie, the reason you remember the song "Memories" is because it is from the play CATS.

I read a few pages of the post that Agate is referring to. There was Peg, Cat, Vicky, Sally, even Whisper stopped by and Tula and Everett were little and already bright eyed.

The part I liked best was when Cat told Howie she would like to see his head swell and burst because that was the only way to find out if there was anything in there.

By the way, Howie was much more active.

It is 38 degrees today and is sleeting right now, suppose to turn to snow with 1 to 3 inches later tonight. My neighbor called and asked if I needed anything. I don't know of anything, but I would not let her go out to bring it to me if I did. My brother called and I certainly would not let him venture out from where he is. I wonder if Howie is getting anything wet where he is. This is first sleet/snow of the season here. Kind of snuck up on me!

Virginia, the online weather was calling for snow today. I went to the store earlier, but since I got home, I haven't even looked outside. I would like to look later and see the snow covering the ground. I love the look of fresh snow before cars drive through it and get it all dirty looking.

Howie, you should see my deck. It is covered over and probably will not thaw for awhile. Some of the trees out back are white and the limbs are hanging over. Of course the ground is white. This will not last long because it is going to turn warm Sunday. It is to be very cold tonight, down below freezing and very cold tomorrow.

I just went up to the kitchen, and almost forgot to look out the window, but turned back around just as I was leaving the kitchen, and looked, and I did get some snow. The forecast was saying 1" to 3" depending on your location. It's going to be very cold tonight, so I'll see how it looks come morning.

Sam, get your snowboard waxed up!!!

Spoken by someone who doesn't have to move it around...

Just finding a place to put it can be a problem.

In case you don't get your snow, Howie, here's some to look at:

Good morning, BrainTalk. It’s a sunny day here in Boston with a high, blue sky. I took a Benedryl last night and slept until the cats woke me at 10 AM. It was 24 degrees when I fed the birds shortly after that.

How’s your day, yourself and/or your weather?

Ann, I take Benedryl every night, and have for years. It works very well! Without it, I can stay awake all night, no problem.

:) Andy came this morning and did my grocery shopping and gassed my van. Then Jim came because my in house scooter is cutting up. He took a part off of the old one but someone had cut the wires too close. He will take it home and solder some wires on it and return next week.

Jim also reset my bank password so I can check my balance now. I have not been able to get on for a few weeks. He also replaced the light on the front porch.

I am worn out from yesterday going to the doctor, the hair salon and the nail place. Too much for one day for me. I am headed in to take a nap. Cold here this weekend so I will run the heat. It is also very windy. Y'all stay warm. Jeanie :)

Spring seems to be here. One tree outside my window is bursting into pink blooms, and others are showing signs of green. We had an easier winter than some--no snow that shut anything down.

I'm about to make sure I still know how to fold up my wheelchair. Tomorrow I'm taking the paratransit van to my son's house to visit, and he will be able to take me home. That will involve loading the chair into and out of a vehicle, and I haven't done that recently. Need to refresh my memory. There is a fairly thick booklet about the wheelchair that I'll be consulting.

I'll be steaming some broccoli later but aside from that, there's not a lot on my agenda today.

I called to set up a ride (the appointment isn't till April but this ride system accepts ride requests 2 months in advance) but there was a bad connection with their phone. So I'll have to call back later today to confirm the ride. I don't think they got the information right.

I got up and looked at my steps this morning at 9:30. They were quite frozen with snow and ice and I knew they would not melt today. I called and cancelled appointment to get nails done and then promptly returned to bed where I remained until this afternoon. I do wish I had more energy. I vacuumed the downstairs yesterday and did a few other things. I had already dusted and washed linens and changed bed earlier in the week. Laura did not come this week. She told me she would be here Wednesday and then she called Wednesday morning and said she needed to take her daughter to the Doctor. She is to come Wednesday of next week. She had gotten better, but is getting back into her old ways.

At a little after 3:45 it was 35 degrees and I think it is to get very cold tonight. I slept with an extra blanket last night. I wonder if Howie's snow stayed around for any length of time. My deck and also the front porch where those steps are don't get any sun this time of year so they just don't thaw until it gets really warm. This is our first snow of the season. It has been unusually warm until now. Ann, your weather sounds quite cold. Glad you are feeding the birds. The squirrels were getting all my bird seed so I no longer feed them. There isn't any good place to put a bird feeder other than on the banister. The birds were not getting any food and my deck stayed a mess. Also, when there is ice or snow on the deck I couldn't get to the feeder.

Jeanie, glad you got everything done yesterday, but it is tiring isn't it? If I couldn't get to my checking I couldn't pay any bills since that is how I pay mine. For the most part the only checks I write are for Laura and my hair. I usually try to give my nail lady cash.

Agate, I found a card to fill out for the EMT people to get free transportation for everyone in my household (me in this case). It is $60.00 per year, so I am going to call and give them my credit card number. I thought it was $99.00, but it is closer to the price you stated.

I was having a lot of spasms yesterday so took Valium and went to bed early. I also got a great night’s sleep! My coughing has been slowed for the last 2 days so I hope it is exiting the stage. For good.

We got a shipment of plant starters (rooted cuttings). I had the fellow who works with John set up several hundred pots and put them in the carriers we use. Then he moved a bale of the soil mixture I use. Best decision I ever made! He did this last Friday and there was everything I needed all set and ready to go. So I unboxed plants, filled pots, planted the cuttings and watered everything. I am well over 40% done!
I have already potted many of my own cuttings from different plants so the greenhouses really do look like spring might come!

Feels good to be moving. So many weeks in the house and my muscles have grown stiff and my back hurts. Got to work out the kinks.
