Hmm--I hadn't heard of this and so looked it up. Looks as if proceeding with caution is a good idea but I hope you can find a solution that works.

Sunshine, if you are consuming any chocolate, no matter how small amount, try doing without for a few days. I found that when I was having any problems at all I could eliminate my small amount of chocolate and every time it would clear up. I use to could eat all the chocolate I wanted, but now that I am so much less active I cannot.

Sunshine, thought I better add to above post to say that I know that anything that I have had is not to be compared to what you are going through. Just thought that any little thing that might help at all would be worth mentioning.

          Sunshine ~

I agree with agate about proceeding with caution in having this procedure. I can't say that I know personally your anxiety and discomfort, but I do know what Jonathan and Michael went through, and it was agonizing. So I understand very well your desire to find relief.

You are very wise to consult your PCP and GI, before you consider this procedure.

Have you reduced any of the fiber in your regimen? It can be a challenge to achieve a balance in fiber intake and the desired outcome of regularity. And when you are battling a drug-induced constipation, it's even more challenging.

Based upon my experience with my sons, I feel that you would benefit more from a continuing systemic approach than from invasive options. I'm looking at this, as a caregiver, from the whole situation point of view, and whether it might be painful for you to have the procedure, with positioning or the discomfort of the surface upon which you are laying. And the results, which might have you sitting on a toilet for hours.

          Once again ~ I'm a caregiver, not a doctor.

I send you healing prayers, and I ask for Divine Guidance for you in all of your decisions.

          Love & Light,

          Rose
