Still here. Still very sick. Not coronavirus sick. SPS related sick. Still swim but 3x week.

Sunshine, I hope your down time won't last long. It's great that you're swimming 3 times a week anyway in spite of not being well.

Yes, Virginia, I think Ann is right. Do jeans really need ironing? Thinking back on it (my kids wore them a lot), I do recall that some of them did come out so wrinkled that they had to be ironed. And others didn't. It might depend on the brand?

My new antenna doesn't work. It was an indoor antenna, but I really thought it might work. Well, time to see if my outdoor antenna can be fixed. Back to DVDs....sigh.

Agate, that is what happened with these jeans. They came out of dryer too wrinkled. I had been hanging them instead of putting them in the dryer and I forgot to do that.

Howie, so sorry about your antenna. You are going a long time without TV. I would get tired of the same DVDs. There has to be a better way. If you needed an outdoor antenna why didn't you get one? Is it because you would have a hard time putting it up? I bet your nephew would stop by sometime and put one up for you if you called him. I realize you are like me and don't want to ask, but this really is a need. You need this for your mental health, since you can't read due to eye problems, and you can't go for long walks, so you need a TV. Call your Sister and ask her if she thinks it is a good idea for you to call your nephew.

Howie, the same old DVDs?

I wouldn't want to put up with the same old DVDs. In fact, when I realized that the mobile library that brought me DVDs every month wasn't coming any more, I signed up for a subscription to Netflix. For $8/month I get 2 DVDs at a time (my choice), and they send me another one just as soon as I've returned one to them.

I figure that all of that stimulus money I received shouldn't just burn a hole in my pocket.

I watched Comet channel mostly, but I can watch on my computer. I'll get the TV thing figured out. I talked to my brother just now, and he's going to help me find a new amplifier so my antenna works like it use to.

Ironing? No way! It was my job as the only girl in the family of 7, to do all the ironing for everyone. Many, many shirts, handkerchiefs, etc. weekly. Most Saturdays were spent ironing! My mom dried my brothers corduroy pants on pants stretchers in the water heater closet. At least I didn't have to iron those! Of course, most clothing was made of 100% cotton then. Now it's getting hard to find all cotton anything!

Spotted a new daddy quail watching over his family amongst the poppies yesterday. DH snapped these pics when mama and babies emerged out into view on the walkway. They're so tiny, just little fuzzballs!

They're no bigger than a minute! Glad mom is watching over them carefully and not letting them get lost.

You had more than your share of ironing, I'd say, nuthatch.


Men's shirts are hard to iron. I did the family ironing too, and my dad's shirts were not fun to do. They were all pretty much alike (that got boring) and he was very particular. But at least the "family ironing" was for just 3 people, not 7!

Virginia, the adult quail in the pictures is the female mama quail. Papa is much prettier but not shown in any of the pictures. He was watching over mama and babies from atop the pathway light fixture, about 3 or 4 foot high, while they all pecked around down on the ground. I can usually tell when there is young out there because that's the only time he perches himself up there. When there are no children and it's just he and his mate, he is down with her pecking around and protecting "his woman". The male is very devoted to his mate.

Those babies are only about 2 inches tall. They were really hard to see and were photographed with the camera zoomed in. Next week they will be twice the size!

I remember that now Nuthatch, from the last batch of babies. I remember you saying that Poppa was up high so he could watch over the family. Good parents.

Good morning.

It’s full sun in Boston and the birds are very happy. I haven’t heard a plane yet. Awesome.

I’m still picking greens and thinings every morning. I love it. We eat it all at lunch. I had enough to give a container of greens away on Sunday. We had a friend from Cambridge who lives alone bike over and visit on our patio. We kept safe distance and wore masks. I think it helped him.

Nothing scheduled for today. Maybe some cooking. How are you?

Hi Ann and everyone! Ann has all the sunshine, and I'm in a 4 day period of rain. Today is day 2. Sam is on my lap, where she STAYS.

I'm waiting on a package from my brother that will fix my antenna. I am so waiting for it to get here. I'll have to go to the mailboxes and check....as soon as this cup of coffee is done.

I should go to the store. I have masks so it will be a safe trip. If I go or not depends on if this coffee has a bit of motivation in it.
