Thanks Agate, and yes while bad, in another way it is good. Good for Jeanie for seeing to it that we knew what is going on.

I had the same thought about COVID19.

Thank you so much for posting, and I'm so grateful that Jim knew your email address. Poor Jeanie! With the shingles pain, the rib cage pain, and now a broken tibia. I hope that she is receiving excellent care, and I pray that she doesn't have to go back to that rehab place again. She should have home health care, like Sunshine is receiving now.

Please tell Jim that my prayers are continuing for Jeanie's healing. Thank you.

        Love & Light,

THanks agate. Please let Jim know we are all rooting for Jeanie.

I think there is a home health service where they come to your home, and trouble shoot what about the home set up might contribute to these falls, and help the patient make some changes. SOmetimes it’s something easy, sometimes its hard and expensive...

I’m hoping Jeanie is doing well. I did have the thought that she will be getting pain medicine and that that may also relieve her shingles pain.

And we are missing Virginia! Does anyone know anything about her? Worried for her.

We’ve had excitement in the garden - a very long snake slithered through. I saw him from inside the house, thank goodness. I later looked him up and he’s apparently a Northern Garter snake. Still, glad he kept moving. We also had a mouse under the bird feeder, a rabbit, a salamander in the watering can and today, my first ever hummingbird. I may put up a “Nature Preserve” sign.

I think I am over the recent bout of TN now that the temperature and humidity have gone down.

I hope things are well with you,

              VIRGINIA!!!!

              Hope you'll check in soon.

stillstANNding, I wonder about that mouse. Wouldn't that be something the snake might have liked?

              Maybe it just wasn't hungry.

I saw a little field mouse in the back yard here the other day. At first I thought it was an odd little gray bird but it was moving around in an unbirdlike way, jumping up and down the way mice do, and sure enough. It was a mouse. I'm always amazed at how high they jump.

I went to the store AGAIN this morning to get the things I didn't get yesterday. DOH!!!

I got 4 hours of sleep last night. I guess that's better than no sleep at all. I got a new sleep med, but it may not help. There was a very limited choice of sleep aids. I went too early to try CVS for something new and effective.

                Everyone have a great day!

Howie, I’m glad you got some sleep and hope the new med helps you.

This morning Peter and I walked to CVS and I got the first Shingrex shot. I’m very happy about that and am grateful to Jeanie and Virginia, in particular, for spurring me on. I have had the shingles once but it was very mild ( or the antiviral was effective).

It was a beautiful morning for a walk. No hustle-bustle on the main street anymore.

I've been enjoying the less densely populated environment too. How different it is! But somehow it seems easier to breathe--though that makes no sense, I realize. Maybe I mean that it's easier to stay focused on navigating when there are fewer distractions such as a crowd of people to thread your way through.

I am thinking of Jeanie today, and hoping she is comfortable.

I am watching the tropics. I do not like that INVEST (98L) that is east of the weaker invest. It looks like in a week it will have moved over Puerto Rico if the forecast holds.

It is the window of the big hurricanes: Mid August...and it is hot, and th ocean is and has been too warm.
COVID certainly boosts the readiness for hurricanes. It will be an interesting intersection of two deadly events.

                          ((((((Hugs to All)))))) ~

agate ~ Thank you for letting us know about Virginia. Sending her healing energy and prayers.

ANN ~ Garter snakes aren't dangerous, but any snake would scare the dickens out of me. Your first ever hummingbird? Aww ... perhaps if you hang a hummingbird feeder you will attract more. Do you have any red or pink flowers? We used to have lots of fuschias, and they loved those.

                          Sunshine ~ I hope Invest doesn't attack the U.S.

We are watching Genevieve coming up from Mexico as a Category 4 storm. It is predicted now to veer west over the ocean by the time it reaches So Cal, but we are feeling it already. It's 103 here with 74% humidity. That level of humidity is unheard of here.

I had to relent and turn on the a/c today. While trying to conserve energy, my energy is being zapped. We are looking at a week at least of these temperatures and humidity. I worry about outages. Some areas have had rolling outages for a couple of hours. So far, we've been spared. I wonder if we are using less or more electricity by being at home during COVID. Businesses may still be running their a/c, even with fewer employees in the building.

In addition to that, we have fires raging all over California (and other Western states).

Howie ~ Check your medications to see if any of them can cause sleep issues. If you could squeeze in a little exercise everyday, that might help a bit. There are probably herbal teas, which promote relaxation and/or sleep. Is MMJ legal in your state? THC is another possibility.

And, as I suggested before, see if you can establish a regular bedtime and maintain it every night. No computer or TV an hour before bedtime.

Jeanie ~ I'm thinking of you and praying for you continuously. I hope that Jim will give agate an update soon, and even better, if you are well enough to give us an update.

Be well and safe everyone ~ prayers and healing energy for all ~

                          Love & Light,

Good to hear that Virginia has been in touch, Agate.

Rose, if the hummer wasn’t enough, today I had a Goldfinch. I feel like I am looking through Nuthatch’s eyes.

And about energy. Apparently we are using more electricity and water according to a report I heard on NPR. Most people would turn their heat or AC off or down when they went to work so that’s more than 8 hours of power for that. And water? Lots of hygiene and cleaning. The only decrease is laundry - people are not maintaining wardrobes.

Not necessarily, Agate, maybe waiting until clothes are actually dirty rather than a new coordinated outfit everyday. The radio piece did not say.
