Jeannie I always love reading your posts. I am really glad motors purr well when tinkered with also. None of this sitting idle and unused is not good for motors in my opinion.

Thought I would drop in and say hi to everyone.

Had a really nice visit with my grandbaby. My youngest and I drove out there. It took us a day and a half drive. I was there when my granddaughter rolled over for the first time. Very exciting. I have over four hundred pictures that my daughter gave me of the baby. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with those pictures. You can tell it's their first child.

Summer is sure zooming by. The leaves are already falling down. The kids are back in school and the state fair has started. Which means the ending of summer. Except you won't know it here with temps close to 90. We have horriable humid weather here.

Dawn,, it is exciting to hear about the baby. I haven't seen little Ford yet. Hopefully it will be in a couple of weeks. I do not want to give the little sweet thing any germs!! I'm going to get Papa Ken to go get a "Pack & Play and keep it here so I can play with him and not damage the back anymore.

Joy, I finally heard something from the Power Chair place today. This has been about 6 months in the making!! I'm about give up on it. It will give me more freedom to get around and not have to stay here at home all the time.

Jeannie, you busy bee. I'm glad you are enjoying the summer and the cooler weather. We have been buying fresh produce from the town hall every Thursday. that has been nice. Ken isn't able to do things like he used to do. He does not like that. Oh well, we all start losing what we once had. I'm afraid all my illness's has taken it's toll on him.

You know, his Mom has been gone about 3 years and it is just now starting to take it's toll on him. I feel for him.

Well, gotta walk around with my back straight as possible. That is a hard task for me, but I keep trying.

Hi Ladies! It's hot as **** here. Ugh. I am not doing much, but hope to get to the zoo, to my volunteer job this week. I go early in the morning so it's still not hot while I'm there.

My little Quaker parrot, Skye, is such a blessing. He talks a lot now, and is so sweet and funny. All the birds are doing well. Shami turned 23 on the 1st, and we had a little party for him.

Clouds, what is PHN? I'm still having some problems from the bout with the shingles when I was in the hospital in June. They can sure creative havoc, I know that. I hope I never see another shingle in my life. I read someplace that you can have them 3 or more times.

Fig, I've got a lot of humming birds visiting this year. I know nothing about how things work for them. Maybe you can tell me. What kind of nest do they have? they are much fun to watch. I can sit on my front porch and watch them. Can't get out much, but I can spend a lot of time just sitting there and watching. If you have any thing to share please do. I enjoy reading about your birds.

hey all !

well, its been a hot and humid week and yesterday a cold front passed through, dropping temps from 90 degrees to 80 degrees and lowering the humidity. another cold front passes through tonight and tomorrow we will only get into the upper 60's. i don't see another 80 degree day until maybe the end of next week.

so, i have been planting in my front yard. the cooler weather will be nice because the weeds won't grow so fast and the plants won't wither from the heat. i went to a polish festival on sunday. detroit used to be a big labor union city, many unions remain, so on labor day there is always a parade. my pookie walked in it as he is part of the international brotherhood of electrical workers (ibew). on monday we went to a potluck dinner. it was inside the house because it was so hot and muggy outside.

i had my yearly physical last week and i rode my bike to the doctor's office. it started to rain when i got out and i thought i would stop at my girlfriend's house, about a 2 minute ride away. she wasn't home though and i rode 2 miles home as fast as i could. it was thundering and lightning and i got soaking wet. yesterday i had a dentist's appointment and it was a beautiful day to ride the 8 mile round trip.

julia, "phn" is post-herpetic neuralgia, which is pain after having a case of shingles. it's very painful and sometimes lasts as long as a year or so after the shingles. some people have less pain. not all people get phn, though. i hope you're not suffering any pain after your shingles !

thanks for the hummingbird stuff, jungle. nice to see you post. and dawn, i know you look forward to visiting that new grandbaby.

Hi everybody. Jeannie you are the most active person I know. I read your post and then I want to cry for the lost things that have gone away!! Then you send the energy wave my way and I want to go climb Six Mile Mountain!

Did I ever tell you Six Mile had an Orphan Mountain ? Well, we do have one and we can see it well from our house. The tree's will be shedding soon and in the summer we can enjoy the blooming tree's. Actually, Six Mile is really a very pretty place to live. Of course it would be nicer if we didn't live in the middle of the town. & smile

I'm glad things are going well for you. You deserve much happiness. Have you heard anything else from the missing? I know Dawn is so happy you can just see her wings flapping in the breeze I hope she will post more pictures soon.

Jingle, I don't think I have thanked you for helping me, encouraging ,me while I was struggling to stop the ciggie's. Your posting kept me going and I finally gave it up . Many other helped me, but your posting how you manage to stop just gave me an extra boost Thank you with all my heart. I am not sure how long it's been, but around 2 years or so. I thank you again and love you for keeping me going when I wanted to pick one up.
