    Peg,
I was diagnosed during recovery from mine. Relapsing so recovery took 4-6 months. Plus I was severely anemic and did not get the transfusion I should have probably had so that probably prolonged the time. 6-8 weeks is average recovery time for abdominal hyst and 4-6 week from vaginal. You will be glad you had it done. When I finally recovered, I had more energy than I'd had in years.

My David has had a slow somewhat uncomfortable couple of days but already has several appointments lined up for this coming week, several of which I will be driving him to and from. He sees the PA Tuesday to see how much work he can officially resume (they said nothing for three weeks but he's self employed and our only source of income and seems almost frantic to be doing something). The did say it would be 3-4 weeks before the fusion would be healed enough to safely drive and he has to wear a neck collar whenever he is in a vehicle.

Peg, I thought I'd heard of a laparoscopic hysterectomy somewhere, and I found something about it:

I don't know if that's a possibility but it sounds easier than the other two....

Cherie, that's probably good news about your David if he's eager to be busy.

Peg, way back in the '80s when I had mine it was about six weeks. I had abdominal. A few years ago a friend of mind had one and it was very little recovery time. She had the laparoscopic surgery and it was a breeze for her. Definitely find out if this is an option for you. If your Doctor doesn't do them I think I would ask for one that does. Her recovery was so different than mine. I did have a transfusion before I left the hospital, but still had bled a lot so was just weak and had to lay around. I had my wonderful dog at the time and when my husband was at work she took care of me.

Linda, sorry I missed your big day. Hope you had a great Birthday.

Glad both David's are doing alright for now.

By the way, Cherie have you heard from NeuroNixed Craig. We have not seen him around in quite a while. Just hope he is as well as can be expected. We also have not seen Chris in some time. I have concern for both their situations.

          Wish Howie would come home.

            Chris119 last posted about a month ago and seemed alert. houghchrst (another Chris) has posted several times in the past week. Howie hasn't posted in a couple of months and likes to play around. Also, he has had connection problems. Craig last posted a couple months ago and was having increased physical difficulty;

All this info comes from searches on my part. Maybe others have some person-to-person contact.

Thanks Mal, that is the reason I am concerned for Craig. We know of his problems, and I was thinking that Cherie sometimes talks to him. I remember Chris's last post and enjoyed it. She certainly did seem alert and I was hoping we would hear more from her by now.

              Thanks,

I read a post from Craig on FB I think. Dealing with some issues but sounded positive.

I still have this stupid chest cold I am going back to the Dr today and see if he wont change my antibiotics. So far it has not awakened the MonSter. Other than that I am sitting here waiting for spring. I know its early but judging by the amount of song birds coming into my yard it cant be too far. This is got to be the earliest I have ever seen them. I hate to think that it can still ugly.

My renters are looking at another farm for sale. They want to split there operation between 2 places. I doubt that this is going to work very well. I cant drop my selling price to match the depressed economy. So I may end up taking the farm back. Not what I wanted and I can make the mortgage without farming but literally with nothing left over. And not figuring anything breaking down cars, the well pump etc. I thought about just selling for what I owe but my wife will not consider a cardboard box alongside the interstate on ramp. Just think of the money we could save.

                Think spring everybody.

:)Hi everyone. Gary I hope the sale goes through and the buyers don't find another place. Cherie glad David is doing ok. It is hard to get men to listen to their body.

This is frustrating. David wanted to mow the yard and I said no way. You are supposed to rest for weeks. Well he said he was going out to the utility building. Next thing I know I hear the lawn mower. Later he admitted he had to sit down several times while mowing. I said that is your body saying you are supposed to be resting so your treatment can work and your body heal.

Finally he said he had learned his lesson and would not do any more things like that. We had a nice Valentine's. I got a crystal heart about 3 inches big and a silver velvet lined heart shaped jewelry box. We went out for Chinese dinner.

We are still waiting for the doctor to call us as we are not sure if David's file was sent to be put on the liver transplant list yet.

A belated birthday to Linda and a late Happy Valentine's Day to all. Jeanie :)

Ditto Sally. Glad to hear that the 2 Davids are doing well. News like that makes everyone feel better.

Seems like the antibiotics are helping. I am feeling better the cough is all but gone and now I am just tired. But feeling much better. My wife and I are going to the big city (Boise) this weekend to my MIL house. Seems like her other 2 kids cant be bothered to clean her house and make any needed repairs. Grrrr. Oh well Harbor Freight is having big tool sale and you cant be too good looking or have too many tools. I may have to start my own house cleaning business. Hmm I wonder how I would look in a French maid outfit?

Weather is about 8 to 10 deg above normal. Lots of snow in the mountians but none on the valley floor.

                            Be healthy everybody.

I have heard from Craig. He is slipping physically but still sharp mentally and having to adjust even more as things shift.

I've been driving my David on 1-2 appointments/day and to the office and back a couple times a day. He still can't do without the Vicodin once or twice a day and says tylenol or ibuprofen has him nauseated (maybe due to the pain which he is trying to downplay?). The PA told him he has tennis elbow on both arms (tendonitis) probably from lifting weights in a frenzy to stay in shape. No weight for a minimum of 8 weeks and then only with supervision or PT oversight. He thinks the bigger the better so has put aside the 3-5 pound ones the chiropractor had him using for 10, 12, and 20 pounders. No wonder his neck pain intensified and the discs slipped further. They told him he could use the treadmill to get back into shape but no faster than 2.5. He was doing 4.8 with a 5% incline AND weights in both hands. Sigh****

Now I've got a cold. And I've discovered a NetiPot thanks to Heather. Weird sensation but it really helps keep the sinuses open and draining. Doesn't work at all if your nose is totally blocked.

So many birds at the feeder this year. But they are primarily winter birds like cardinals, Nuthatch, chickadee. Squirrels are FAT! I really expect March and April to be heavier than usual snow.
