I've always liked that song ("Duke of Earl") and just now looked up Gene Chandler. He's from the same area of Chicago where I used to teach, and a few years ago part of a Chicago street was named after him.

          OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

I might post more than one video per day — as I have already.

Be sure to scroll up and/or go to the previous page, if you want to see/hear them.

You may have missed the Ella Fitzgerald/Duke Ellington/Louis Armstrong videos I posted on the previous page

I have all but the sound track from the video of Ella and Duke on the Ed Sullivan show in my CD collection.

I posted that one, along with the others, since you mentioned Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington in your post before that.

            Hope this helps.

Fine so long as nobody objects. But in the past one concern about posting music videos in abundance might be creating the impression that this is a place entirely occupied mainly by music videos. It would be good if we had other content to balance things out a bit but unfortunately people aren't supplying much of that content just now.

I'll try to come up with some alternative content even if I'm posting boring research articles.

Again, though, so long as nobody is objecting, you're in the clear.

If I may offer a suggestion regarding new content, I would put forward nature photos.

If not that, I trust you can come up with an alternative.

I look forward to your new thread!

This is what I find myself doing here sometimes.

I hope no one notices. lol

I'd like more nature photos but could they be real nature photos and not the photoshopped kind?

I don't mean to ignore your music posts, flatcap, but just now I'm putting some of them on a back burner because I don't have a lot of time. When things calm down around here, I will definitely listen to them.

After the plumbing backup, some lightbulbs burned out and I can't get on a stepladder just now to replace them. I've been waiting for days for a maintenance person to show up to do that for me. And the Medical Guardian system developed a problem I've been dealing with. Then there is a rx that the pharmacy filled wrong (the doctor wrote the dosage instructions wrong), and that has meant lots of phone calls to straighten that out before I run out of those pills.

And my nephew's wife is visiting tomorrow. This has never happened before though she has visited with my nephew a couple of times in the last 20 years. I don't have many visitors--and so this is an Event.

Also the housing recertification process has some loose ends that are going to have to be tied up soon.

And there are the shoes I've been waiting a couple of months for, new diabetic shoes. But I've almost given up on ever seeing them.

I mention all of this to show that just now I have limited time for listening to music. But I'll get to it.

No sweat. In addition to dancing alone, I was really talking to myself. I thought it might be funny, but as usual, I was the only one who got the joke.

I would give up humor altogether here, but I can't help myself. Whether or not I use an lol or whatever doesn't seem to matter, so why not: at least I'm having fun.

As for pics without photoshopping, I think you would find more edited photos than you would unaltered versions. If it were me, I would go ahead and post them.

I hope you get through all that stuff you have to do without knocking yourself out. It sounds like a lot of work to me.
