This is such good news. Surgery that goes on for 11 hours is no small thing. It may take a while for your body to settle down after that operation, and you'll be able to eat better as you rest up from the major shakeup you've just had.

As for starting a new thread, I always thought the person who starts a thread is pretty much in charge of that thread and can put an end to it or start a new one. It's your thread if you start it.

:) Hi Peg I am glad your surgery went well and you are on the mend. Also glad you were able to get the hay done.

I agree with Sally that some of the posts from thread 1 should be moved here or not have two
Chit Chats in a month. I don't think I am alone in thinking that way. We can choose how many pages to read. I often read all the pages more than once because I forget who said what. Just when we get Cat, Virginia, Gabriella, Cherie and others sharing important info then the new Chit Chat has none of that info.

I am happy to see so many coming back and posting and we are like a family. Since I have lost most of my family I like to keep up with this family of MSers. Their posts to my posts have helped me a lot deal with the losses and pain.

Agate you are one smart lady. I have no idea how to do the photo stuff you can do so well. I'm like Howie and barely do the minimum on a computer. Sometimes I apparently hit some key and everything goes away and I have no idea what I hit to do that. Non coordinated and numb fingers make it happen often.

One of my ceiling smoke detectors is beeping. I will have to get the neighbor to come and change the back up battery. At least it is the one in the computer room so I won't hear it in the bedroom.

I am frustrated. I had a permanent and the hairdresser left it on too long and my hair is fried and dry and brittle and not looking nice at all. I'm thinking about getting a wig as it looks so bad, but it is so hot. Today my van thermometer read 101 at 2 PM. My hair grows slow and she layered it so I have a long time before I can get it long enough to wear a pony tail. I'm so sorry I cut off my pony tail.

Everyone try to stay cool. Has anyone talked to Gary? Jeanie :)

Trying to find out what's with Gary but so far I haven't had any word.

Thanks for the compliment, Jeanie, but it's not deserved. I know almost nothing about photos--but I can keep trying and trying to get them to post. That's really all it takes--persistence.

About the split chit-chat threads: It can be confusing if someone doesn't know there's a new chit-chat thread going and posts in the old one. One way to solve that would be to ask the moderator to lock the older chit-chat thread. That would force people to look for the newer one before they post. They could still read the posts in the older thread and copy and paste parts of them if they wanted to reply to something specific.

I'm not sure it's possible to lock a thread but most message boards have that option.

Wow, Peg, eleven hours…and I thought I was da bomb when they reconstructed
              my insides in eight hours.
Peg, how many tubes were sticking out of your torso when you came to?

Sally, I want to be you when I grow up. How do we do this?
Maybe we are essentially the same person.

Hi despite rumors to the contrary I am still alive. Been having MS troubles. Nothing requiring the hospital but I did 'roids and 3weeks later no improvement......

Plus its been 100 or at least 98+ for a month no rain............

And to top it off my laptop pooped out so I have been using my wife's tablet and typing on a touch screen isn't as easy as I thought. Its not designed fro people who shake and have the MS muscle jerks. The fatigue is pretty bad. Son has been cutting my grass and tending the garden. And wife and daughter all my flowers. I just don't have any energy. I haven't even been in my wood shop to putter around. Not much point in going to the dr. Its MS there isn't anything to do but wait.

Glad to see Peg back at it. Farmers and those raised on a farm seem to have an awful lot of drive. Bet it has something to do with all the seemingly never ending work! The neighbor started to combine the wheat. Guess that a large portion of the west is running out of irrigation water in a couple of weeks meaning the half grown onions, potatoes and sugar beets are done. They are not usually done for at least another month and a half.

Sad thing as after a couple of poor years a number of farmers have gone all in and they are finished. Some of the farms have been in the family for over a 100 years.

Thanks for asking after me everybody. Oh and does everybody realize that you can click on the arrow next to the time and date and below the name of the last poster in the last column. It will take you to the last poster and you do not have to scroll through all the post you may have already read. Already knew that? Well I didn't and impressed myself.

I will try to be better about posting. I promise!!

Hot weather and MS are two very good excuses for not posting.

It's good to know you're still in there doing your bit.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the suggestion about clicking an arrow. I'll be working on it later as I wake up more.

Uh, Gary what is that you're saying about time and date and the last person who posted? Agate, will figure all that out and let us know I am sure.

Umm, I don't know about that. When I tried to figure it out, I ran into trouble when I found out that there are several ways of displaying the posts in a thread.

He may be talking about a different display "mode" from the one I'm using because I can't find the arrow he mentions.

I've learned something new. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks.

Oh, we just weren't on the same page. Gary is talking about the main screen page that you see when you're looking at the list of threads for this MS forum.

Over on the left the last poster in each thread is listed, and there's a tiny double arrow next to the name. If you hover the mouse over it, it will say Go to last post. And if you click on it, you're taken there.

I never noticed that before and hope to use it. I always click on the thread title and have settings set so that the most recent post comes up at the top of the page.

Dinner sure was good. Again, I'm giving up. I've tried EVERYTHING everyone has said. As far as posting the URL, I can't post it in the second spot. As soon as I click that one, it takes me to another page with a few words on it. Sites I think' and they go nowhere.

And now, I've lost the Ghia image I had, so now I'll just have no avatar.
