I realize in your case they can see the results and I would not change places, however there are things about me they can see also but they just all tell me it is part of getting older. Since my friends are my age and they are able to take trips and go on vacations and I am not, I have a hard time hearing that.
I can so relate to your position, Virginia. That is exactly how I feel much of the time. MS is a very isolating disease, and so hard for people to understand, or even care to, I find. My rose-colored glasses have long abandoned me as reality can no longer be avoided or masked by myopic optimism.

Thank you for expressing how I also feel. Life with MS can not only be very difficult, but it can be very lonely as well. The social world we live in is not very compatible with MS.

        Is that even possible?

Would the male members of this forum (we have so many) please tell me why my favorite radio program has to be interrupted for college football in August? Doesn't it get just a little warm in those uniforms. It was somewhere around 90 degrees here today, so would still be I suppose in 80s. This has got to be a male thing because females would be too smart for this.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I find sports boring. I played football in HS, but don't care to watch it on TV.

My dad was a golfer, played it all the time, played tournaments now and then. And every weekend golf was on TV, he watched it. But you could walk through the TV room, and here he was on the sofa, "watching"...zzzzz zzzzz zzzzz

The bee problem is bad in our area. Infections, virus and chemical misuse. West Nile Virus has even started in on the wild life.

I am also not a big sports fan. Not something you mention around here. We act like every kid in HS football is going to the NFL. And ere college kid too. I guess it had a lot to do with the way I was raised my dad believed that sports interfered with work. If you had enough energy to play sports you weren't doing enough work.

Geez, Virginia, what kind of station is it?
                    College football or pro ball?

The men in my family were more interested in the cheerleaders than
American football so there was none of that endless couch cheering.
                    Couch leering, yes.

I've really been spared. Never knew any football watchers. The males in my family have been baseball fans, strictly--and a couple of golf fans. The favorite baseball team has almost always been: the Chicago Cubs.

renee, your suggestion for a dog for Howie with his cats sounds workable:

                      A chihuahua.
Small, low maintenance, interview for neurosis.
I think the cats will dig it.
But I have a feeling the cats might send that chihuahua packing off, back to Taco Bell or wherever.I could be wrong though I tend to agree with Virginia.

                      As for Howie,

Why do we all pet him so much?
Virginia, that's a good question. Don't know if you recall that Howie was playing hard to get a while back because someone locked him up in one of those rehab places, and he was having a high old time with some of the nurses there. We couldn't get him back at this board even though we tried and tried.

So if you want to be petted and treated like royalty, just make yourself scarce for quite a while. Worked like a charm for Howie. He's being wined and dined!

There'd be no board if everyone was hidden away somewhere, and so I hope nobody takes this seriously.

Vicky, that lampshade is fetching. It would make a good fashion statement as a sunbonnet--and keep me from getting a sunburn too.

Oh Agate, you hurt me with that statement....hurt me DEEP!!! Sniff.....I'm going to need some extra special petting...sniff...and attention...and royalty treatment...sniff...if I am ever going to get back to my bubbly self!

                        So what's for dinner?

"Don't temp me" he says, wagging his tail, and drooling.

I tasted those dog biscuits once.....not bad!!!
A dog would be too much work for Howie and his pampered
cat would be jealous. Poooor doggie.

My dad raised dogs, and I tried some of their dry food one time. The taste wasn't horrible, but it was very gritty, so I spit it out.

My mom used to make corned beef hash, and I wanted to spit that out too, but she wouldn't let me. I think everyone in the family hated it, but never said anything.

MANY years later when us kids were grown, my sister and I told mom we used to hate that dish, and she said "Well why didn't you ever tell me, I wouldn't have made it any more?"

                                DOH!!!
