:) Hi Ranger, I'm glad you found us again. 10 years passes so fast. I miss the Leafwatcher gatherings but not up to setting one up myself. Also after all the troubles I had flying with a scooter I won't fly anymore. I'm in West Palm Beach and that is over 300 miles South from the state line. I seldom go very far now. Jeanie :)

Welcome back Ranger! Hope you will just come on in and join us. We talk more during some periods than at others, but we do enjoy each others company on here.
Renee, don't want to wish age on you, but since you are not in a good situation and obviously have not been for a long time, I will wish you to get a little older rather quickly.
You have put up with a lot for a long time now in your community. I would like to see the situation change.
Howie, glad you are still pain free and hope you remain that way. Have you considered that while you sleep the cats might be jumping up and down on your chest and that could be your problem - you never know about those two.Virginia

Gosh Ranger, thanks for remembering me. Have you always been Ranger? I know my memory has taken a blow over the past years, so forgive me for not remembering.
Yeah, I kept WebTV to the very end. I loved it for the safety, and simplicity. I have a lap top now with this incredible memory (much better than mine) but use it just like the WebTV. A few car forums and a few MS forums is about all I do with. I'm still learning all the things it can do.
I look forward to your coming posts!

Hey Howie!
We too kept webtv to the end. Loved it and missed it. I have an ipad now..never had a computer.
We do pretty much the same thing with the ipad as we did with webtv. Research, nytimes, farm supplies etc. mostly we use it like an encyclopedia. Vast amounts of information
I discovered YOUTUBE last year and am amazed. Whatever I am trying to do, someone has a demonstration. We also discovered that we can find entire musical performances (such as West Side Story or Beethoven's fifth)..... Just wonderful.
When I got my new Subaru, I found a demo of how to attach the phone through Bluetooth?
What a great device webtv was.Linda~~~~

Linda, I still have mine. I think it would make me cry to just drop it in the trash! That was Bill Gates giving everyone a chance to experience the Net. It gave me my first taste of the Net, so I thank Bill for his vision.
People try to say bad things about him because he's so wealthy, but he's done MANY charitable things with his wealth. He has put gobs of money towards helping people."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

I've never owned WebTV but I think Bill Gates is more okay than a lot of rich people. I try to hang on to my Firefox browser because I've customized it and I really hate to think about having to learn a new one. That part I understand.

Bill Gates bought it, killed it and tried to force everyone onto the same railroad track! It's all about money...getting people to pay for access and pay again and again for what they want to see...ok I am a bit prejudiced! He is so arrogant about education and has fostered the idea that there are large numbers of incompetent public school teachers, weakened the strength of all workers to have a say in what they know best and fostered tremendous disrespect for the talented, hard working public employee.
Wow! Think there is a raw nerve there? Thanks for the chance to soothe it.Linda~~~~

We've been landlords for almost 30 years and have never enacted anything like this on our tenants. Sounds like a shady landlord to me!Originally posted by renee View PostQuestion: Landlord Responsibility
Is it correct for one's landlord to mandate tenant responsibility for cleaning
an appliance space when landlord is replacing appliances?
Old appliance pulled from wall area, tenant cleans, old appliance removed
and new installed. In 2 hour period.
$25/hour for cleaning if tenant does not comply.
Sounds like [B]B[B]lue [B]S[B]hield to me- particularly for the wheelchair bound.
This really bites for working tenants, too.
Yes, Agate, in two years I apply to live in a better environment.
Waiting list is up to 6 months.
6 months would be a breeze.
Will call Satan Central on monday w/out mentioning federal law
and press the compassion button so Beelzebub thinks he's getting
points for niceness.
Howie, do you really not get it?

Thanks Cherie.
Everyone I have talked to in the regular housing sector has said we tenants
are having it stuck to us.
The head of this housing has snowed the trustees
into paying him nearly as much as his counterpart administrator in Manhattan.
There is a huge pile of $$ in the bank for a disaster, much of it off the
backs of tenants going without normal things like new floors and apt. painting.
Basic ADA needs have been blown to the wayside.
Head guy is vindictive.
We earned a reprieve for a week or three because the contractor wasn't ready.
I spent the day in bed sleeping off stress.
I'd like to have the trustee head removed. He has violated his obligation to present
huge expenses to the city before getting their ok. He even blew off the NY AG.
Talking w/my co tenants is like being in a special ed class.
If anything happens it will happen outside of No-no-neverland.
Linda, I can see that about the Gates foundation. It's a different turnoff from
watching Oprah W. interview piles of young girls in Africa to compete for a
high end private education.
Who is more special than who- then televise it.
An insult to the student population.
A toast to good educators and those who learn forever.
