renee, your landlord graciously offered the "reasonable accommodation"? Spontaneously and with no prodding from you or anyone else? Congratulations on having a truly thoughtful landlord.

There are such people. The management here in my (HUD) building was nice enough to let me know I could have a special doorbell for hearing-impaired people. I had no idea until they told me, and I now have one, and it's a big help.

Howie, I wonder if your doctor is one of those who don't read through a patient's file very carefully. Or maybe he has another patient with a name like yours? This has been known to happen, unfortunately.

Gary, maybe bringing the BP down takes more time and more patience. Hope you don't give up on your efforts.

I've been turning one heater on for a while at night now, usually just enough to warm the place up after it gets dark enough for a chill to set in. But the earliest recorded first frost date here is October 15--so winter probably isn't far off.

I read all the post yesterday, and then was too tired to respond. Today, naturally I have forgotten the ones I wanted to respond to. With the exception of a couple - such as Gary's BP. Those are ridiculous numbers my friend - follow your Doctor's orders to the letter.

Agate, I also like your new picture. It is very nice and yes I would post one, but really do not have anyone to take a recent one at the moment.

My crazy 25 year old niece scaled the side of a 32 story building this past Friday. At least I think she is nuts. The local TV channel was asking for people to do it as a fun raiser along with one of the announcers. I saw the pictures of her. She said it was the most fun thing and at the same time the scariest thing she had ever done. I could not have watched in person.

Howie, what's going on with your Doctor? Guess you will find out tomorrow. If you did not need another AD why in the world change it or add one? With all the appointments you are talking about, I would probably ask him if he knew something about you that he hasn't told you. I know - you probably went in telling him you were Sponge Bob, who lives under the sea and has nine cats - or something along those lines.

Jeanie, hope you are feeling well.

Guess Ann and new hubby are still honeymooning and probably will be for a long time. Hopefully, for the rest of their lives.

I do hope that we hear something from Gabriella in the not too distant future and that it will be good news. Make that excellent news.

Cherie, hope your parents are doing well and your Dad is still hanging on. Determined guy isn't he?

Weather is gorgeous here. Last Friday was a good day, the weather was good and the pressure was good. I ran errands, etc and did very well. What a nice feeling it was. Unfortunately, it doesn't last.

Peg, love seeing you back! Maybe you should consider listening to your hubby about horses for awhile. By the way is your dog an Australian shepherd? My brother just bought a miniature one for his wife. It is just a little pup. Name is Sadie. We went out to eat Sunday night and I was invited back to their house to meet the new member. I fell absolutely in love.

Virginia, I told the doc I was SpongeBob which meant nothing to him, but it did prompt him to ask me if I would scrub the sinks in his office.

Even though I'm a cat daddy, I love dogs too, especially pups of any kind.

I told him what I dropped, or never even took the first time, and he pushes a button on his laptop, and it's gone. I do like going to him, and after today, all issues were resolved. Now if I could just ge......ARGH...MY CHEST!!!

Saw the sleep specialist today that had helped me get off sleep meds back in the 80s. I've been on them again continuously since 1999. His suggestions: Get off the computer by 9PM. Find ways to relax after that...no games or action TV. Go to bed when I start to get sleepy. Get up and stay up if not asleep in 25 minutes until I am tired enough to go back to bed. Oh....stay on the meds until I find ways to get sleepy without them.

My dad is dipping again and hasn't eaten more than a bite of food 2-3x/day for the past week. Hospice nurse spent an hour and a half with my parents today talking about how this was to be expected, gave them a sheet of symptoms of the end nearing, and told them she thought they needed to probably focus a bit more on the spiritual side of things at this point. She was not specific. I asked Mom how she understood that and she said, "Well, we should probably read scripture together more often and discuss what it means to us." Dad had no idea what she meant. I suggested that she might be indicating that it was time for them to start talking about what their hopes and fears were as the end got nearer. What they would miss the most. What they most looked forward to. They both gave a half hearted, "yeah, you might be right". Didn't seem like the time to push that conversation.

BP is still out of control <sigh>. I probably should go to the DR but I know what he is going to say and I already ran up a big hospital bill. I have already done 'roids 2 times in the last 6 1/2 months and I doubt that they will do them now except as an inpatient. Have to see how it works out.

My MIL was suppose to have a pacemaker implanted at noon today, well as of 3:30 they have not even done her pre-op stuff. My BIL is bringing her out to our house tomorrow afternoon to recouperate. She DOES NOT get along with BIL wife and her other daughter is complete waste of skin.

My medicare ins provider slashed what they cover and raised prices on everything. Most of the plans they offered in Idaho have gone away. So I am shopping for a new plan. Its really simple: I want a plan that has no co-pays, no deductible, covers everything 100% without any argument and has no monthly premium. That doesn't seem like too much to ask.

Having a true Indian summer today and tomorrow temps in the low 80's. Three years ago this Friday it was 13 degrees! I remember because I thought it was a misprint in the paper and I didn't bother to cover up the tomatoes and black isn't an attractive color for tomato plants.

I am in western MA. We planted a late crop of beans and it has been so damn warm this fall that we now spend days picking! I was so hoping for an early frost. (Don't tell my husband!)
We even have crops of summer squashes and I am selling squash blossoms. Drats. I just want to sleep!
