Gary, if you can ever get a quick pic of the kitty without terrifying him/her, I'd love to see it. I miss having a kitty and live vicariously through others!

I have 2 cats, but unfortunately, they are camera shy. Sorry.

Peg, the sight of the squirrel dropping acorns on your dogs is pretty funny. Can't blame the dogs there for getting that one.

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Although it's tomorrow, I know some of you already celebrated and some of you may celebrate late.

I took the day off from work today and just checked email intermittently throughout the day. baked blueberry and walnut pies and chocolate chip cookies. did a double batch of "communion Bread (basis is all bran cereal and is hearty and sweet and soft and yummy. dis the butternut squash with maple syrup and nutmeg and cinnamon. Also cut up the cantaloupe and honeydew and am questioning whether I need to cut up the pineapple or use it for my next batch of green juice at the end of next week. A load of laundry, some grocery shopping, a trip to the bank and the pharmacy and the day was fairly complete. Tomorrow the stuffing needs to be made and the bird prepared and stuffed and baked. Potatoes need to be peeled, cooked and mashed. then , of course, giblets cooked and gravy made. Also did a load of laundry.

One of our guests from maine had a terrible accident with his newly adopted Pomeranian last night where the dog jumped out of his arms as he was getting out of the car and dislocated his shoulder and suffered a compound fracture of his right leg.

surgery most of the day so they may not be here tomorrow but may come for left over weekend.

Have been doing a lot of research on Lemtrada over the past week and have had good and enlightening conversations with the Medical Advisory Board (info posted on Lemtrada thread).

Yucky weather here today. Started out at mid 40s and rain. Now low 30s and heavy rain and wind. I will wait to hear from everyone planning to come to see when all will arrive before I stuff the bird and put it in the over to accommodate for weather.

Dad tells me he his not planning on checking out any time soon. I remember when he had his birthday mid October...we just knew he would not make it to Thanksgiving and now he has so sister Tricia and her guests are taking dinner to them.

I have a dry fire laid and enough wood and kindling in the house to keep it going for a few hours.

Blessings to all no matter what you do or who you are with tomorrow.

In this area, several of the Premium channels are free for a while. This is Dish TV. Check out about 352. There are more channels above and below.

The last of the guests left a little over an hour ago. Linens are in the dryer. Last load of dishes on dry cycle in the dishwasher. Turkey carcass has been simmered and is now out of broth waiting to be deboned when it cools sufficiently, broth skimmed and things going in the fridge for tonight. I did the turkey, stuffing, mashed potato and butternut squash as well as 2 pies and homemade bread. Becky's husband baked the pumpkin pie and made the cranberry sauce (he said this is year 33 of him doing this every Thanksgiving...he started doing it with his grandparents when he was 8 and has not missed a year making these two items since.) Heather was to bring 4 vegetarian side dishes and showed up with 8 plus a custard pie. And our guests from Maine had a family emergency and could not make it down so there were 9 of us for all that food. Lots of leftovers to all three houses. Friends from Maine likely coming down on the weekend for a few days.

I'm pretty wiped. Hope everyone stayed well, ate well, had the desired companionship for this day.

Mom and Dad unexpectedly had my brother and his girlfriend show up this morning to put the turkey in the oven and they brought tart pie (old family recipe) and cranberry apple relish and a broccoli salad. Youngest brother brought rolls and peas and squash. Next youngest sister and her husband changed plans and came with mashed potato, a pork tenderloin and gravy. They had no sooner finished cleaning up the meal than three Amish showed up for pie and coffee. Mom says Dad is not doing so well today. The activity level is not a lot higher than a lot of days recently but his reserve is diminishing. I really did not expect him to see Thanksgiving. We talk daily on the phone and David and I were there three weeks ago and may try to go up in a couple of weeks if he is still up to visitors.

Guests who could not make it down from Maine arrived around 9 last night. Actually Wiley came with the injured dog and left Dad (Alzheimer's) home with a friend. He needed respite. It is nearly noon and he is still asleep...much needed. David is out in the workshop fixing a couple of chairs that had to be taken out of service due to looseness. Max (8 pound Pomeranian) is asleep at my feet.

I had about a few days of feeling pretty bad, but it was because I couldn't sleep, not the MS. But, as with all things, it passed!

We are back from the big city. We tried to go to a restaurant for thanksgiving but either they were closed or the line was a mile long..... So we stopped at Roseauers and bought dinner and we had dinner in the motorhome. It was actually good. Daughter had to work, the ICU never closes. She gets holiday pay plus time and a half. They are so short handed that she goes on over time half way through the month. I told her she better bring her retirement account paperwork over as the taxes are going to hurt.

Sun is shining and it got to 51 deg. yesterday but 70% chance of snow. I need to go and check if the yard is dry enough to get the leaves off. The big snow storm caught everyone off guard so there are a lot of yards still full of leaves. But the good thing is the leaves fell with the snow as well instead of staying in the trees and the snow sticking and breaking limbs.

Back to the big city on Thursday afternoon for the estate sale. The plan is to have 2 of them and donate whatever doesn't sell. Of the 4 kids only one helped my wife. One lives in Texas and the other is well..... she came over the first day with her BF loaded up what she wanted and left. I am sure that she will be over after the garage sale to see how much $$ she gets. My wife is of the opinion that she should not get anything........... I think she should get my boot in her......

Slowly getting off all my meds. I don't take my BP I just don't want to know. As I am in the donut hole I pay 100% the total a month is more than my mortgage payment and after Jan first my portion is around $700 a month. What are you gonna do?

Going out to putter in the yard and enjoy the sunshine.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

I'm finally learning the strange ways of CVS. One med I take for pain was due to be refilled today. I KNEW it wouldn't be, and cut back the dose so I would build some extras. So I called, and they have nothing for me, then I tell her the story, it's a 30 day prescription, and it was filled 30 days ago.

So she pushes a few buttons on her computer, and says OH, Mr. Howie, we can have that ready in a little while. I said to just have it ready for me tomorrow.

But you had better believe I will call tomorrow to see if it's ready before I drive there.

This pain med GIVES me a pain!
