She gets to eat MY sliced turkey everyday. I really use it just for the cats, and on a salad for me. I guess I didn't give her enough today, so she went after fresh bird meat.
(And know I'm just kidding, she did catch a bird once, and I really fussed at her. She also does mice and shrews, but I don't fuss about that. They only get to go outside when I lock the screen door open to carry in the groceries, and I use "let's get some treats" to lure them back inside.)

Now I don't let them out long enough to do any hunting. So about the time I have the groceries put away, I go to the door, and both are lying on the front steps, ready to come in. Sometimes I have to crack the door open, and ask if they are ready for treats.
Once upon a time, in the early days is when Sam did her critter hunting. She always brought her catch to the front steps, just proud as she could be, wanting cat daddy to see what she had caught.
She never ate them, but they would shock out from being caught. That doesn't happen these days because they are out such a short time. The girl has settled down in her older age.
Right now, she is on one of the living room sofas, and Seven is on the bed with me. She is 15 now, and I hope she sets a record for the oldest cat. She has been my constant companion on this MS journey!
Needless to say, I love my cats!!!

Truth to tell, Howie, Phoebe never caught a shrew or a mouse while I knew her. She was an indoor cat and didn't seem to mind it. But I think she would have enjoyed the occasional mouse.
Oh, Sally, I'm so sorry to read this! I don't know how large your home is. Could you move around in it, in a wheelchair? Maybe you'd have to rearrange furniture, or get rid of some of it, and have work done in a bathroom do you could get in there? Don't give up just yet. You keep working with the therapists, and take your time, but keep at it. In home, I use a wheelchair , have home health aides and visiting nurses. If I didn't have this stupid bedsore where I can't reach it, I could manage on my own here. In time perhaps you will be able to as well.
