I haven't had a bath in over 30 years! When I firstt started having trouble getting out of the tub, I bought a bath chair, installed a hand held shower head (on a long cable so I can bring it to where I need it, and used that. Then in this house, we took out the tub in an already small bathroom and installed a roll-in shower. I have a bath chair, a drop down shower head. If I get really desperate, I have a bath wheelchair I can use. Another good safety feature.
Sally, sliding out of your lift chair is a great example of why I encourage folks who are buying one to try out several. Mine is such that I first put my feet firmly on the ground with the chair in it's normal level position, and then start moving the seat up, so in effect the seat pushes me to a full standing position (or now, to a higher position so that I can transfer to my wheelchair). So no sliding here! :)
