Sally, it is good news to read what Cat just wrote. I hope you will write all that she said down so you will be able to ask about everything you should get. Cat would know having been through what she went through and also having worked in the line of work she did.

It is just fine to blubber if you need to. Living alone and coping with every little thing can be hard when one has a chronic and disabling disease.

We love you and are here.

You might have to pay for the transportation. I pay $5, which gets me to from a doctor in my county. If I have to go to the next county, it costs me $10. And there's a cost for the meals on wheels, around $5. as for your eating issue, you might try getting Ensure drinks. You can get these at Wal-Mart, large drug stores, or pharmacies like Walgreen, cvc, or Amazon.com. they're full of vitamins, minerals, protein, and taste pretty good, sort of like soft milkshakes.

I see somebody gave you the phone number for the agency for elderly and disabled folks. For sure you should call them! They can be very helpful linking you up with local resources. I still have visiting nurses and home health aides working with me. They are really helpful about connecting with my doctors if I have other health issues, like the bladder infection I'm in the middle of. They came when I called them, feeling poorly, got a urine sample and delivered it to the lab, called my doctor with the results, called the pharmacy with the prescription, and would have brought it to me, except my husband was able to go get it. None of this cost me anything but the copay for the ciprofloxacin, a whopping $2 69. :)

That's about as good of a home health care testimony as you can get Sally!!!

          Thanks Cat! :)

Pity party is ok, Sally...life is probably feeling overwhelming right now. If you weren't fazed, I'd probably wonder more.

We're here for you if you need anything. That Cat is right on the ball with what needs to be done! So good of Ann to have located the # for you!

You'll feel better when you've got a plan and your needs are being met. Help is on the way (and if not, Howie and Gary might be!)!

Been reading this thread and I'm so impressed with how this supportive group has stepped up to try and help Sally through this difficult time by supplying her with so much useful information on how and where to get the help she needs. You guys are GREAT!

Sal, obviously, we're all rooting for you!

Okay Howie we get the idea - no need to go further!

Sally, hope your day is going better than yesterday and that they will all continue to do that. Still keeping you in prayer each night.

Thank you all so much for your continued caring, helping and listening. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone. I feel so alone and deserted here in my little home. I'm in no way deserted, but that doesn't seem to be sinking in this muddled sad little mind.

I've been reaching out all morning on the phone to people to help me get to my Docs and other stuff and some of it is coming to me very slowly and I am so appreciative but still sad. Like you said Joan, this ain't the 40s or 50s anymore and our friends and family are spread all over living there lives and we just aren't a part of it anymore.

I think I just need more healing time of mind and body to rise above this again. Damn MS messes with everything. I'm trying and I hope you all don't get fed up with me, before that happens. I want to be a friend with a comforting / funny word for you too, but don't seem to be able to muster much right now, even though I feel all your pain.
                              Love, Sally

Sally, you've more than paid your dues by being here for all of us--over many years. It's time we were there for you--for whatever use we may be.
