For those with an iPad, there's a free game you can easily get at the AppStore. You have a yard where you set out treats and toys, and cats appear. It's called Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Neither one was in the room when I did the tooth pulling. Probably hiding.
They both are really cool cats. I love it when I go to bed, and I lift the covers on the left side, and Sam crawls under, and plants herself against my leg. Then the same on the right side, and Seven does the same thing.

I don't have any animals now either. Losing Phoebe was hard. Even though I never dreamed I'd be without a cat for any length of time, it's been two years now.Originally posted by Cherie View PostSince Mo died a couple of years ago, we have no animals in this household/SPMS diagnosed 1980. I don't know if I could live w/o a cat. I have always had cat(s). Three was one too many but two is just right- one for insurance. <wink>
The current two are littermates. Kofi is a classic mackerel tabby w a little white un his throat and belly. Lily, named for Mom, is mostly white w the same classic black/grey tabby on just half of her face and her tail and 3 spots. Like most cats I have had, they are cheese eaters. The would also eat a ham if given the opportunity.

I was hoping to see pictures of pets, past or present, or read about your pet experiences. Here's just one of mine:
My first pet as an adult, was a six toed kitten named Stinko, given to us the first year we were married and living in Wisconsin. He was a long haired classic black/gray/brown tabby with white patches, tummy and feet. In early spring, we heard that someone had found a squirrel nest full of tiny baby squirrels that had fallen from a tree, and had taken them to the local veterinarian. The vet was looking for people willing to care for one of the orphans till they were old enough to be released. We answered the call and became parents to a baby squirrel we named Squirge.
The vet supplied us with a minature glass baby bottle (an Evenflo salesman sample, which I still have!) to feed him with. We set up a cardboard box with towels for bedding, in the livingroom. Squirge grew very quickly and could not be kept in the box for long. He was very tame, would climb right up my leg and sit on my shoulder. The kitten and squirrel played together.
As the snow melted and it warmed up, we decided it was time to help Squirge return to the wild. My husband built him a nest box, kinda like a birdhouse, and installed it in one of the trees surrounding the house. Squirge liked being outdoors, but was very happy to come in the house when the chance arose. If we went anywhere in the van, when we returned, he would run up to join us as we went up to the house. It got so that we would have to run from the van to the house in order to beat him! I felt so bad doing that, but it was for his own good. Eventually he quit chasing us and returned to being a wild squirrel. It was quite an experience for a young newlywed couple!
I know I've got a pic of the cat & squirrel playing together in my mountain of pics. If I find it, I'll post it.
Share anyone?Last edited by nuthatch; 02-01-2016, 05:45 PM.

This is Tony (top), Fatso, and Furrybutt (taken about a week before I had to put Furrybutt down after suffering a stroke and seizures
he was only 3 years old

Most recent shot of Fatso who has lost 6 pounds (from 18.5 to 12) since I've had him

20151028_215106.jpgQuestion: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?
Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end
Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".
It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.
Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen
Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.
Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Thanks Mike! It's hard to lose one of our fur kids. I had a big beautiful male that was only two years old and had a stroke. I lay in the floor with him, and talked to him, and he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and was gone. I'll never forget him, or that experience. Odo was his name.
My two I have now are my constant companions. Cats are great!"Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

This was my cat Agate. This photo was my avatar photo here for a while:

Another one of Agate:

This was my most recent cat Phoebe:

It would be hard to find photos of the others but there were 7 cats before Agate and Phoebe.Last edited by agate; 02-01-2016, 08:46 PM.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.
