:) Laurel organized the 1st Leafwatchers and I remember Cherie B, Laura R (Laceli), Gail K, Laurel F, Patty K, Maggie L, Janet L, Susan M, Charlie P, Pam S, Peg S, and Kim (Tarzana). Some from the 2nd or 3rd one. I so wish we were able to have another one. I can't travel far anymore.

Peg and I got a ride from the Asheville airport with Gail to Banner Elk. I still email some of them but some addresses are no longer good. Jeanie :)

Ann, you mean you don't wear lipstick just for Peter? If I go out I not only wear lipstick, I wear full make-up. There is someone else here who says she does (I thought). Maybe it was Suze-Q.

Loved that Nuthatch's Mom still has to have her lipstick. That was a cute story about kissing the TP. As I kiss my Kleenex from now on I will probably remember it.

Nuthatch, the pictures are wonderful. Your flowers are looking so pretty. When anything happens in California my thoughts always go to you. I don't know anyone who lives in California but you, so if there is a fire or earthquake or any disaster I immediately think I hope it is not close to Nuthatch.

Peg, I am so excited about you going in to talk about the new medicine. I just hope it goes really, really well. Please take notes or get information to bring home so you can post about it.

Jeanie, Laurel also hosted the Leafwatcher's that I attended. It was a different one from the one you went to. Gail was there as was Maggie. Guess we really all are real people. Agate, has met Ann and Peter and talked to Howie so we all know they are real.

It is time for me to go to bed.

Virginia, I only wore full makeup to my wedding and my sister's. I sometimes use light eyeliner and a lipbaum w color. I don't know if I ever wore lipstick to meditation. Our leader said that you "show up as you are and meditate for the committed time." If the world ends during that time, "you go out meditating." Lipstick was not mentioned. We left our shoes outside the meditation room.

          Peter dislikes all makeup.

I've met six members. Joy and Agate from the current board.

Jeanie, I remember Tarzana. I hope she is well.

I'm really ignorant about makeup and need to ask what full makeup is.

I can recall my mother going through quite a lot of hocuspocus about her face every day, involving putting on a "foundation" (something called pancake makeup?), and maybe powder over that, and maybe eyebrow pencil and mascara. I have an impression that the makeup scene has changed since way back then but I haven't followed it at all.

In my late teens I slathered on some kind of liquid goo all over my face but then I found out that I looked grotesque in some lighting situations. I gave it up as a bad deal and costly.

From then on it was eyebrow pencil and lipstick, and when MS came along I gave those up as well.

I've noticed quite a few women going around without any makeup. Or maybe it's so cleverly done that I don't know it's there.

I think you've got a good understanding of "full makeup" Agate. There might be a moisturizer, liquid makeup, many products to adorn the eyes and then some light powder. I think the natural look is in favor here tho there is some of both.

I like women who wear no makeup, or just a little so you can't tell they are wearing any. At one time, it was the men that wore the makeup, and wigs, and a "beauty mark". I think makeup was in most cultures from ancient times and is alive even today. It's just part of the human experience.

Are you for real, Howie? Men with a beauty mark?

Men don't need a beauty mark. Just my two cents.

The European men, maybe only in France, wore the wigs and would stick, or draw I guess, the huge "mole" I think it looked like, somewhere on their face. Look up pictures of the French royalty about the 1700's. I'll look for you, I'm getting good at finding things on the web.

I found one place online that sells the stick on beauty marks for women that calls them "Hottiedots".

And then there are tattoos. Does anyone have a tattoo? I'm betting that some do.

No tattoos here. No makeup, either (I don't think moisturizer counts as make-up..) Used to wear make-up when I worked every day (light foundation, light powder; lipstick, eyebrow pencil was about all), but only when working; washed it all off as soon as I got home. Always felt "funny" to me. My mother, on the other hand, would not leave the house without her "face" made up.

Yes, I went to one leaf-watchers, near me in Indiana. It was nice, we had a good time, and it was half-way between me and my brother, so he came up to spend a few days with us at the same place, after the Leafwatchers was over. I still blame Peg for setting off the fire alarm, though.....

The last time I wore makeup was 34 years ago. There was no time while raising kids. It was already maxed out just working, cooking, and raising the kids. Even prior to that, I only wore eyeliner and mascara.

I always thought it looked like a corpse, makeup that is. You know, how they put makeup on a corpse.

And I couldn't figure out how any guy would want to kiss a gal with pancake makeup and lipstick on.

No tattoos here. I don't get the appeal. I think they look awful. And I heard they're costly too. But that's what makes the world go around, all different tastes.

I cannot imagine why someone would inject ink into a perfectly healthy body.

I don't mind the look of pierced earrings, but I never did that either. The thought of doing it is, why punch a hole into perfectly healthy skin?

My friend developed a stubborn keloid scar from an ear piercing. Not good.

And all the body stuff, facial laser abrasions, breast implants, face lifts, liposuction,....I know horror stories about that too. One is a personal friend with permanent damage from laser face treatment....It doesn't make sense to me,

Piercings. I have pierced ears..just one hole. But these days.. seems like people pierce *everything*. We used to go to a restaurant, a fairly (for our area, anyway!) classy place..and there was one waitress there who had everything pierced...ears, with several running up and down the lobe, .several eyebrow piercings, nose, lip, tongue (eewwww!), and...well..we didn't really want to know, but suspect lots of other unmentionable places. She was an excellent waitress...but we'd joke, when we saw here, that she would "leak on everything".. :) Then she started with tattoos.... The restaurant closed some time after that (not her fault!), so I don't know what happened to her, but I suspect she's pretty colorful by now! :)
