I am truly wiped out today, but I am going to get hair colored and cut and then I am going to try and go to my meditation group tonight, so see you all later. Wouldn't you know hair day came one day after my surprise birthday celebration! Now, Howie I know you can relate to that.

Hair day? Color? Cut? Not me. I pull it back in a ponytail each day, and I'm done. And color? Not me, I like my hair being white, it gives me that George Washington look!
Well, I made a list, then did my dump, bank, and store run. I was going to do it tomorrow, but making a list inspired me to go today. I did good with the money spent. I'll go back again about Thursday, and get what I need to finish the month.
It was 86 degrees out, but it didn't seem to bother me today. I think I'm getting tough hanging out with this gang of toughies.
Stay cool, and remember, Cats rule

You could think about a streak. I just saw a woman with long silvery gray hair, or maybe it was platinum blond--she was standing in bright sunlight--and she had streaks of turquoise blue in her hair. It might not be what George Washington had but I've seen guys with these streaks of color too.And color? How about 3 streaks to stay with the G. Washington look, red, white, and blue, and I already have the white. Man, that would be cool!
I got two offers for help at the grocery store. I had to get out of the cart, and stand to reach Sam's sliced turkey. Then I had to use my "tardo hand" to grab the turkey, and it must have looked like I needed help because two offered it almost at the same time. I thanked them, and said I guess I do look like I need help, but thank you anyway.
The heat did make me "off" a little today. It was only 86, but my darn AC in the car takes forever to start cooling the car off. I should take it somewhere that can put in more whatever it's called now, but it used to be Freon.
Thank goodness the home AC works great.Last edited by Howie; 07-17-2017, 01:41 PM."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

Where is everyone? I was gone all afternoon and evening and no one else has come on except Howie and Agate. I am dead tired. Two days in a row is something I just can't do, but circumstances were such that I kind of had to this time.
Howie, my sister-in-law cooked some this past week so she made me several individual containers of food and froze them. It helps with the store runs.Virginia

That's nice of her to do Virginia. I went to the store today, and got pasta fixings, but NO green beans. I got mushrooms instead. But I forgot to get a meat. Would ground turkey work instead of ground beef? I COULD just make it meatless, but me man, me need meat!!!

I am in bed by then, sadly. I can't stay up late any more.Originally posted by Virginia View PostWhere is everyone? I've been busy again. I thought I'd need only one trip to the hearing aid place, just to get checked up and leave, but they ran into a problem with one of the aids. I had to leave it there for repair and come back in 2 weeks. Yesterday I went back, a trip that took 4 hours in all, and thought that would be the end of it.
It wasn't. The "fixed" aid wasn't fixed. It still has a problem. So it's there for another 2 weeks, and I'll be going back again. Meanwhile I wear the old aid in one ear and the newer aid in the other. They don't work well together.
One other trip and then maybe I'll be done with appointments for a few months. I still have to pick up my new glasses.
I haven't been very attentive here lately, and these appointments are part of the reason why. There were also two days of needing to be ready for the fire alarm inspection people. This building is getting new washers and dryers, supposedly today, and so laundry is out of the question at the moment but I was scurrying to get laundry done over the weekend so I wouldn't need to launder again for a while.

Hi Vicki, how are things in the home state?
Yesterday we took Mom to get blood drawn, lunch, dollar store, grocery and Aldi's. In the evening, Peter and I went out to pick up some food.
All of that caused spasms and a burning pain in my L posterior thigh. Awful. All of it changed my walking plus balance was off all day. I hate for my mom to see that. Anyway, I slept hard and long. I wake up w no pain!
Howie, I would saute that turkey (and onions if you are adding any), drain it before adding to the red sauce.

"'Could be ominous'"? Certainly hope that's a false alarm! Tell whoever said that that you just don't do ominous.Originally posted by BBS1951 View PostI had another brain MRI today. Last one saw something that "could be ominous", so they rec wait 4 months and repeat it. It's been 4 months. They did the MS protocol 3T machine.
Lucky I didn't have cough fit, or leg spasms. That would've ruined the scan results....SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Going to be hot this weekend: Highs in the mid to upper 90s. Since I grew up in KY I'm used to that though.Originally posted by stillstANNding View PostHi Vicki, how are things in the home state?

:) I have been laying low and sleeping a lot this week. I did not get my shower until 5 PM yesterday and the cupboards were bare. I went through the drive thru at Burger king and got a Whopper Junior and then to the grocery store.
I bought enough food for the week. Mangoes are dropping all over the front driveway. Andy brought in two 5 gallon buckets of them. He will cut up some today and tomorrow when he comes to do the trash and recycle.
I bought stew beef, potatoes, carrots and an onion. I got out the crock pot and was disgusted. The ceramic part comes out to clean it. Well when I lifted it out the inside of the part that heats was caked with old drippings and some had even started to rust. David used it a lot and apparently never cleaned the housing. I had to use Comet and a scrubber and still could not remove all of it as it had baked on.
This is the first time I have actually cooked a meal from scratch in awhile. I am going to try to do it more as I am tired of TV type dinners.
The temps here have felt like 105 most days so I am staying in the AC. I don't know how Andy works outside all day in that. We have heat storms almost every afternoon late with mostly thunder and poor Lacy hates them and shakes.
I read all the posts here but when I am tired I do not retain much of what I read. I am glad I read the Catterville story before as I doubt I could do it now. Most of the things I read were good and it seems no one is having it awful right now. Hopefully we can stay that way. Jeanie :)
