Agate, you gave the whole ending away.....or I did.

Agate, thanks for clearing that up - now I know really important stuff, like what Soylent Green is. Howie, if I ever see it come on I promise to watch it.

It is a classic sci-fi movie. And it's supposed to be set in 2022 which isn't far away, but living in that year won't really be much different, other than we will KNOW that there are other civilizations in the Universe, but that's another discussion.

          Good morning sleepy heads!

I have a good personal story to tell. I'm off schedule with my meds. I take 6 in all. Well, I double dosed the other day. I took a long nap, woke up and thought it was the next day, so I took my meds again.

Then because there are 31 days this month, and you get 30 pills each month, I am going to be short 2 days. Some, I have accumulated extras for, so they will be okay.

To even things out, I am taking half a pill of one, one day, then half of the other med the next day, back and forth. I think by the end of today, it will all be evened out......I hope.

I went to the store at 7am because, well, I didn't sleep last night, but I did try. I only had one cup of coffee early yesterday, so that wasn't the cause. So today, I'm trying not to nap so I can get back on schedule. I'm working on cup #3. But when I eat that pasta today.....we'll see.

Still getting hot for the next 10 days, but when the 3rd gets here, I'll be doing another 7am store trip. Right now, I have 17 cents to my name. But I don't need anything. Some sleep maybe.

          Have a great day everyone.

Sam, quit saying Bedtime for Bonzo!

Howie, my pills have that problem too. The pharmacy doles out only a 30-day supply, but what about the 31-day months? I raised this issue with them, and now I always try to order them a few days before the date on the label. That date is always 30 days from the date I last ordered them. The pharmacy seems to be OK with this because I've been ordering them this way for years. That way I get ahead a bit on the pills.

There are also the pills I drop or ruin to make up for.

Yesterday was a great day for me because I went to get my new computer glasses. I hadn't been seeing with the left eye with the old ones for a while.

In the evening, with the windows wide open on account of the hot weather, as I was watching a movie I heard the unmistakable sounds of a cat fight right outside.

I found a full-sized orange cat duking it out with a half-grown gray kitten. What a bully! I didn't see who was winning because I started calling "Here kitty kitty kitty" at the gray one through the window. At that point the orange cat vanished, and the little gray cat was cowering out there.

I went out and called it again. It came right to me and was very friendly. It was tailless but it looked as if it wasn't born tailless. Somehow it lost its tail, and the poor thing was painfully thin.

It stayed on my patio for a while, in the shelter of the plant stand. Maybe it will manage to stay away from big bad-looking cats now.

Uh-Oh, I think Agate might be about to adopt a kitty.

I think they normally let you order about 5 days ahead of when your prescription runs out. If that helps any Howie you can try it. I think it depends on your insurance company and how the prescription was written, but mine I normally get 5 days ahead of when it runs out.

I walked to my mailbox today. I felt I had to because I had not been since last Friday. I was out Sunday, but a bad storm came up on the way home so I didn't stop. Also, that was while Nephew was doing his thing and I wanted to see the last few holes of that. It was very hot and I was going slower than usual, if that is possible.

Howie, I am having the same problem you are. I just can't get any real sleep. Stop sending me your bad weather and all these sleep problems.

Well, I just got a good nap, but am forcing myself not to fall back asleep because then it starts all over again. Sleep all day, but be up all night. I want a more normal sleeping schedule. I do stay up late if there is a good movie on, but am getting better at setting a limit even then.

I'll make my pasta soon, but want to get a bath first. I hope that warm water doesn't lull me back to sleep. Maybe throw some sand in the tub. That would guarantee a quick bath!

The pharmacy I have now is terrific-- they'll mail -- for free--my prescriptions (I have my credit card information on file with them; they bill the credit card). And they have a program (which I don't use) where you sign up and they'll automatically send you refills about 3 days in advance when your current prescription runs out. We didn't sign up for the program because some of our meds change every couple of months -- I'm trying out different spasm meds, TC different restless leg and stomach meds...but once we're settled on what ones we'll need for the year, we'll sign up. You can call and cancel any time, or change around, if you change prescriptions, too. Also the other day I called to renew one of TC's prescriptions and the pharmacist asked, "I see this XXX is ready to renew...shall we renew that, too?" Sure enough TC hadn't noticed, and we would have been out of them had the pharmacist not told me!

I've got one of those weekly pill reminder boxes -- one strip each day, morning/mid day/ early evening/night, which I will up every Saturday night, for the week ahead. I'm most apt to forget my morning meds, especially if we in a rush in the morning, but then I'll discover it at night when I pull out the strip for the night meds, take those...and the container still rattles! :)

Anyway...as Kermit the Frog says, "It ain't easy being (solylent) green"....

I use CVS, and they do pretty good at staying on top of my meds, and a robo-call tells you they are ready for pickup. But one med I take is a "controlled substance", and I have to call them, then they have to call my doctor. THEN when it's ready, they call me to say it's ready. Round and round it goes!

Oh, and I solved my med shortage. Instead of splitting pills, and taking this on one day, and that on another. I had forgotten about my spare pills stash. Anytime I got my scripts early, and had a pill or two left, I had a bottle I put them in.

So, the ones I was going to split pills to make it, I had extras. I took the right meds at the right dose today, and will with all of them until payday. Such an easy solution to a problem that was really stressing me out. Ahhhhhhh.......

I'm so glad you remembered the stash, Howie. It's things like that that cheer a person up.

Good for you for having a stash - now try to replenish it as soon as you can.

Not up to cat care any more, I'm sorry to say. I looked at that little kitty and thought: flea treatments, probable ear mites, unknown other problems a vet will surely find, food, shots, cat litter, and combs and brushes and toothbrushes and medicine. I'll just have to trust that that kitty already belongs to someone who's looking after it.

Most cats around here do have homes, I think. They're too friendly. I believe that if they'd been running around wild for any length of time, they'd be scared of people.

This one was ultra friendly, considering it had just been in a scary scrap with cats yowling their heads off.

Cat fights are scary. They are both screaming, wanting to intimidate the other. And many times that works, and one runs off. But sometimes, it's teeth and claw time. Dogs do the same, but it's growl and show teeth to intimidate the other. But sometimes......

I slept in a little today, and it felt good. I'm caught up on sleep now, and need to not stay up late tonight. I've made coffee and coleslaw this morning, and Sam is stretched out against my leg. Life is good.

                              Everyone have a great day!
