That's the thing. In the end, we are judging ourselves. Who knows how many steps we used to take in a day, before MS. I used to work, and weekends I spent working on Pinky, and making it shine, and how many steps I took, never entered my mind.

But now, you have to plan your activities for each day, and try to not to over do, or else, you pay for it, and it may take days to get back on your schedule. It's not easy to be so aware of yourself, and limit your activities. To me, that's the hardest part of having MS.

Swam 500 Yards: 1/4 mile plus 50 Yards, 14 minutes. Thigh clenched, so I got out

Great work! Plus all of the getting ready, getting to and getting out and home!

          Well done.

            Today I swam 15 minutes, 500 Yards.

The close up spots were parked up, the handicap spots are 15 steps further than the close up ones. I tried the hcap spot today. It worked out, but it distracted me from the fact it was 3 minutes before opening time.

Nothing to sit on but a low down curb. Desperate, I took a chance and fell to a sit. Was able to roll and rise . It was dicey. Don’t do that again!

Stiff Person Syndrome really creates challenges when the expected and unexpected occur.

The female guards are not strong enough to pull me to a stand with my hands, and lower me to the ground by pulling on hands and forearms. So, today I really lowered too fast. Yikes. But no males were on duty. I survived. Gotta plan for this next time.

They cleared our homesite yesterday, in the middle of a wooded lot. Likely not what you imagine when you think Florida.

I really wanted to see it. DH carried a house chair, and I was able to walk a minute in hilly sand with branches and sit and look at the site. It wa nice to do that. So, it added an extra 2 minutes, to walking. I sure miss clambering around the woods, but was glad I could still do this.

You'll be in the middle of a wooded lot? That sounds ideal!

Yes, it is. I've never hit the 3000 mark though I came close a few times. This 3189 is so unusual that I wondered if the pedometer made a mistake or might have carried over the previous day's score and added it in. But some days recently have had more than the usual amount of walking--so it may have been right.

I met up with two friends for surfing this morning. It was one of those beautiful warm February days. The ocean wasn’t too cold, about 75° and I went to was just right.

I had to satisfy myself with being at the ocean with friends and being able to paddle through the beautiful ocean and glide on white water waves . I had paddled out to the lineup but I realized how weak my arms are. It made me feel a bit worried to be Taking waist high waves. Usually, that is my favorite size waves. So, I paddled in and stayed on the inside taking Whitewater in.

I guess I’m recalibrating my expectations and hopes. If the ocean stays and Knee to thigh, I will go to the lineup. Any bigger, I will just simply stay on the inside and take whitewater water.

For sure, it is a different kind of fun to get a white water wave but it is still fun

After my friends friend split his face open and broke his jaw on a very bad wipe out, other people have told me about some of their bad wipeouts. This is a very dangerous sport but the pay off is huge.

When people ask me, “aren’t you afraid of the sharks?“ I always say, “no, I am afraid of the wave And of my board.”

I did not see any fish or sharks today. They’re always there, you just don’t always get to spot them.

Whew! I'm glad you survived another session with the sharks, Sunshine. And those boards do look as if they'd hurt if they got you the wrong way.

Maybe it's just as well that you don't usually see the sharks. If you don't see them, you don't have to think about them. I think I'd find thinking about them a bit unsettling if I happened to be out there among them....

Well, you’re always thinking about them, just not ruiminating about them. Your always scanning for the waves on horizon as they approach, the other surfers who could hit you, the bait fish swimming, the pelicans diving for fish, the sharks, the shifting current, the sneaker wave that could knock you off the board and so on.

We look like we are just sitting out there. But we are communing with nature ,and watching, watching, watching. It’s an exercise in turning off the mind.

Sunshine, you just gave me "brain fog" reading that. I don't have to try it, I can just think about the sharks and all the rest and it scares me to death. You are definitely an adventurous person and that is good. I use to be a little bit like that, but in a different kind of way. You are living life and that is so great!

Agate, your walking is really good. I can't believe how much you are doing.
