    Nuthatch, thanks for checking in.

I am sorry to hear how ill your mom has been. That kind of stress is awful especially when there is nothing you can do.

Thank you for the picture. I love your grand children and the dog!

Joan, very sorry to hear about your Mom and how sick she has been and apparently continues to be. I wonder if y'all took her out of hospice. Can you even do that?

Is Tula walking that miniature bear or is he walking her? That is so precious.

Everett is a darling little boy. I am sure it does renew you just to see the pictures.

Please keep in touch as often as you can.

P.S. We love pictures on here, but don't get a lot. I don't know how to post them. Maybe some day I will learn.

Good job advocating for your mom. They need your permission to ease into death a patient with morphine if the wishes weren’t expressly in living will. Only you know what your mom would want.

That dog and granddaughter photo is a hoot! So adorable :) that must be a very well trained dog to walk in step with her without yanking her off her feet! And I agree, dog looks like a small bear :)

            Joan,
Thanks for sharing the lovely photos and the heartbreaking stress of dealing with your Mom's illness. It was about three years ago that I was dealing with the loss of my dad and Mom beginning to show the strain health-wise (she died at the end of June). My health took a hit for a couple of years as a result. I'm not sure I have any great advise for you other than to do what you feel you need to and take time for you whenever you can. This is not easy.

Finally got some of the income reports straightened out for this year's taxes. There were a couple of groups that reported my airfare and hotel and meals that they paid for as part of my taxable income. They tell me the "IRS allows us to do this. It is your responsibility to report expenses against your income." My argument: You put in a grant proposal to bring in guest speakers that included travel, lodging and meals. Now you are charging me for that? I have not even seen the hotel bill because it was paid by you so how can I claim it??? It has been amended. I made nearly as much in speaker fees this year as I earned with SSDI but there are actual expenses against that income and to offset it, this was the first year in more than a decade that I added anything to my IRA (totally against my income!)

Concerned about Dave. He is getting more and more forgetful. Went to a breakfast meeting 45 minutes from here yesterday and it does not happen till March 12. He has flashes of anger (totally out of character) lately that can ruin the best of moods. Talked with his doc today and he is seeing him on Monday for neuro exam, blood work, a brain MRI and ordering neuro-psych testing. I don't know if it's stress or early dementia (it has been getting more pronounced for a couple of years now). Positive thoughts and prayers appreciated.

Will do Cherie on the positive thoughts and prayers. Isn't Dave extremely young for early dementia? I guess it can happen even in 50s or early 60s, but just seems awfully young. I am thinking they will find something else or say that he is just under stress and will come out of it. Hope he will be fine with a little time.

Yes, Cherie, I will say a prayer for you and for David.

Is he aware that things are off? Must be very frightening for both of you.

Okay, why didn't anyone mention the time changed Just wanted to confuse the old man this morning? I looked at my watch, and what was on TV, and I thought the channel had changed their lineup. Shame on you all!!!

Howie, check your clock battery. Time change is at 2 AM March 11th. We go forward one hour then. No early birds.

I'm throwing the watch away. My regular clock died the day I lost the power in this room, and may have caused it. Be sure and let me know when the time changes. Not that I have to be anywhere at a certain time. Well, my Dr. visit coming up this month.

Howie, you scared me. I thought something was wrong with me that I didn't know the time had changed all week and it is Wednesday. Glad Ann explained what was happening.

Time changing? I wouldn't be very surprised. Howie must be trying to shake things up around here. Sam must be in a mood for more excitement and wants everyone running around changing clocks.

I'll believe anything, particularly when there's this much snow on the ground late in February and it's showing no sign of melting. People's daffodils are in bloom, for Pete's sake.

                              Don't tell me--it really isn't February, right? It's November 21, not February 21?

Oh good, there's someone who doesn't even know what month it is! At least I know that!

I went to the store today, and got only 2 things, sliced turkey, and cheese. The things I do for that girl! At least I made coffee today, and ready to have my second cup! Good morning, whatever day it is!
