    OT October Chit Chat

Hello out there,, its chilly in Iowa, and rainy,, so hows your weather ?

We are gearing up to get the soybeans out,, but mother nature is making it hard to get in the fields,,:-(

Otherwise things are fine here,,deer season {archery} starts tomorrow,, Joe is going out,, he does pretty good,, he has to have lots of patience, to sit still in a tree stand,, I could never sit that long,, it was tough enough when I was in the disabled hunt,,loved it,,

    well better go,, later then

Well there's our early rising farm girl, Hey Peg! I wish Joe good luck!

"Early to bed, early to rise" is my excuse for being up early. Sunday is the worst night for TV, and I want to go out and tinker with Pinky. It's supposed to be cooler today.

So all you sleepy heads....GET UP!!! Have a great day everyone!

I have lots to do today--pay bills, do laundry, make a grocery list. This is a fairly busy week, with a meeting on Tuesday, a flu shot on Wednesday, and the eye doctor on Friday.

Howie, you're tinkering with Pinky? What kind of tinkering are you doing?

Tomorrow is my second Rituxan infusion of this series so I will be at the hospital from 9 till around 3. Thursday we have an appointment with the Memory and Aging clinic to see if David moves into the trial for which he has been testing now. I have another week and a half off before the meetings start. I will be in DC three times between the 14th of October and 29th of October and my 45th nursing school reunion is in Saratoga during that time as well. I Hope and pray for stamina and clarity for all of that.

It started out sunny and low 50s here today but now is cloudy and the wind is picking up and it is mid 60s with a chance of rain in the forecast. I'm loving the cool!

Agate, Pinky hasn't run in years, and I think I have finally figured out what's wrong. But I'm just waking up AGAIN! I drink a mug of strong coffee, and take a 3 hour nap. Go figure.

So I'm having a second mug right now, and we'll see what this one does.

Cherie I hope the Rituxan goes well tomorrow. Keep us posted please! Your schedule is amazing, I hope you feel well enough for All of it!

Re the Baclfen you responded to in the Sept thread. One of the curious things about Stiff Person Syndrome is that the patient tolerates high doses of that, and Tizanidine. It’s like the disease gobbles it up....

In fact one of the things the Mayo doc said, as he set out to disprove my dx of SPS, as he scratched his head, saying “Hm
You’re tolerating very high doses of muscle relaxers. That IS consistent with SPS.

The spasms are known to fracture bones in SPS because they’re so violent. And long acting....I can believe it.

California is not giving up on summer yet. 86 degrees, sunny and clear with a lovely breeze . . . it's quite delightful actually! We still could use some rain though.

                Hey Nuthatch,
I have lots of extra rain to spare! I am giving it away for free.
We have some late plantings of peas, Haricot verts, and sunflowers which are just sitting in puddles of water looking pathetic.

Where are you getting cooler weather Howie? It was in the 80s here today and supposed to be the rest of the week, even in the high 80s toward the middle to end of the week.

Cherie, maybe the Rituxan will give you extra energy and stamina to get through the heavy schedule you have coming up. I hope so.

Peg, thanks for getting us started again.

Hi Linda and Nuthatch. Linda send some of that water you have in your garden to Nuthatch. Just beam it over to California.

Went out today. I think it was 2nd time since shingles hit 4 weeks ago today. To grocery store, drug store, Home Depot and places like that.

Virginia, I spoke too soon. When I got up, they were predicting 78 degrees. Well, then it hit 82, and I stopped watching the forecast and had another mug of coffee. I'll get to work on Pinky in a few weeks....I HOPE!

Well, so much for Sam's influence on the weather. For a while I thought she was ordering up special climates for you and her.

She was, but I'm down to half a slice of turkey, so she ordered more hot weather. She wins, tomorrow is payday, and I'll get TWO packs of sliced turkey!

Hang in there, Sam--better days are ahead!

I have some reading here to catch up on. The first of the month tends to be busy, and just now my back has been acting up because I overdid on a filing task I tackled. So everything has slowed down around here.

I hope to be able to catch up soon.

IVIG all day today. For 8 hours...bring books and iPod and ear phones to block out noise. And hope no spasms....

I didn't sleep last night which often happens the night before payday. But I'm back, got everything done, and I'll sleep in just a bit. I'm feeling tired now. Have a great day everyone!
