Keep on Moving Thread: October 2018

MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.

Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.

I went to K-Mart to pick up Rxs, had to wait in line, then to Home Depot to get air filters for house, then to grocery store for quite a lot of groceries, then by Panera to pick up dinner. Tired!

            Swam 23 minutes. 706 Yards.

SPS related issue stopped the quest for 30 minutes.

Tomorrow is my busy day. I do my trash, bank, store, and CVS run. That's the only exercise I ever do, just taking care of business, or as Elvis called it, my TCB day.

I do vacuuming and washing dishes, etc. when needed, but no formal "exercise".

That IS exercise Howie, don’t minimize it!

Peg, that’s not cheating, that’s taking advantage to tech so you can still romp with rover!

You bet it's exercise--as I realize when I keep postponing the vacuuming and find I have more energy than I had back when I carefully tried to vacuum on a regular schedule.

Pedometer step counts in September averaged 1,413 steps/day (averaged over 28 days). I haven't done that well since July 2017, when the average was 1,434 steps/day.

Agate, I bought a pedometer, and after a few days, comparing to your numbers, I use it as a watch only now. You put me to shame!

Maybe your pedometer isn't working right, Howie. But if works OK as a watch and you're happy with it as a watch, at least it wasn't money wasted.

                              Great job Agate!

Howie, Agate isn’t the gold standard. We all do what we can do. Your numbers are still valuable, they show you’re still walking.

I swam 1/2 mile today, 30 minutes. So far so good, but it sure has been hard to walk
