Sunshine, I am so, so sorry you are feeling so hopeless and helpless. Things do get better for you at times, so try real hard to look to those times. This is so much easier said than done. Glad your DH was right there beside you and with you.
Cherie, sorry about the poor turnout for the educational part of the cruise. I would have thought it would be much better given that it was an MS cruise. The poor caregivers who care more about learning how to live with the disease than the people who have it, that is bad. Some may have had a hard time getting to the part of the ship where the educational part took place, and some may have just been having really bad days. So maybe we can give some a little break, but not as many as you indicated.
No word from Catdancer since her last post here, regrettably. Unless someone is in contact with her?
...I apologize for cluttering up the board with this silly thing but I found it on another site and thought people here might not mind wading through it to the point where you find out where it's going.
A man is driving down the highway and notices a rabbit in the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately he hits it. The driver is a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, but he is dismayed to find that the rabbit is the Easter rabbit, and he is DEAD.
He beings to cry and is overcome with emotion. But suddenly a beautiful young woman pulls alongside and asks what is wrong. Then the young woman surprises him by pulling an aerosol can out of her handbag. She sprays it all over the rabbit, who gets up and hops away, and keeps waving, then pausing, then hopping and waving some more, until he is out of sight.
The man is amazed and he asks the young woman to tell him what is in the can. She gives him the can so he can read what it says.
Here is what it says:
Hair spray, restores life to dead hairs, and adds permanent wave
Today I see the GI guy for a follow up for swallowing problems, and for Baclofen induced constipation. Its 25 minutes away, and a slog to the front door of a huge carpeted building. Which means rolling their bariatric wheelchair on rug. Hope a kind soul can help out.
It is hard that so many docs now have bariatric wheelchairs only. I get why they do it. But for slender people like me, it makes it very hard to self propel.
I am trying to do it without imposing on a friend to help out. We wil see how it works out. One thing at a time. Current is to be ready to drive in 2 hours.
Next step: make the drive.
Next step: get as close to the front door as possible.
Next step: Walk to the wheelchairs.
Each step is an accomplishment. WOrse thing that can happen is having to reschedule. They will NOT send an employee down to get you. That is what we call “care” in todays modern medicine. My PCP has a nurse who actually rolls me to the car with a stop at the restroom, unsolicited. That is true Care.
Today I just collapsed onto the couch around after breakfast. I am so tired of bladder pain, feeling like Iam on a boat in a storm , feeling shaky inside, feeling like its hard to talk, much less participate in conversation, having so many cog and physical symptoms. I just looked at my DH, while I lay on the couch and said, “I just can’t do this anymore” and I sobbed. He was so sweet, put his arm around me, lie down next to me, didn’t try to coach me or talk me out of my feelings, just let me sob and talk...
Seems like we all go through this with these diseases—- I recalla friend going through this in the thick of cancer treatment.
!
You got the best medicine...you went to the couch which is a good start and then let someone comfort you which was your second good choice! Hope you feel better.

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says:"Oh Crap, She's up!"..
I just did my last running around for the month. I took all my change I had, then went to the bank, and got my last $5. Then to the store and used their change counting machine, and got 6 more $.
Then got more pasta of course, and just finished it, and adding to the pasta I made before, and now, the whole mix is simmering.
And to show that everything that happens is for a reason. I lost my car keys this morning before the store trip. So I searched the place, and ended up searching the trash.
And here's my watch I threw away the other day, just ticking away. So I cleaned it off, and it's back on my arm. Oh, and I found the keys with the tools I used to work on the car window the other day.
I feel like a beer, but have all but quit because I can't afford it. So I'll consider eating my pasta as enough of a celebration.

Howie, so glad that watch showed up and is still going. It is also nice that you retrieved your tools. You might just need them again, and you certainly need the keys. Now stop throwing things away like that. Sam is going to have to take over and keep up with everything you loose.
Yesterday I stopped in the grocery store on the way home and they have put in a big display of Compleats. Obviously, I thought of you. Howie, those dinners look very small to me. Maybe I just eat a lot more than you, or maybe you add a little something with the dinners. I know you mostly just eat once a day and that just doesn't look like enough.
What a great story Howie! And the watch fixed itself! Very cool. LEt’s study it and see if we can fix ourselves too :)
TOday, the GI consult went well. I was pleased at how much my ability to negotiate this building has improved. While there, I was also able to drop a urine sample off at urologist , in the same building, making it a double accomplishment.
Tonight I will drop my Baclofen at the midnight dose by 5 mg for the next two weeks, unless it triggers spasm. I am trying to reduce it in hopes of being less dizzy and shaky. All day. Doc said to reduce it every two weeks and see how it works out. Nervous, but I gotta try it.
Sunshine so pleased with the way things went for you today. Try not to be too nervous about the Baclofen reduction. If it just does not work out you can always go back to what you are doing. I sure hope it works for you.
Virginia, I always add coleslaw and an English muffin to a Compleat's dinner. And they now have a larger portions Compleat's dinners. I got those the last time I bought any. Right now, I'm into the pasta, but always add coleslaw and an English muffin to that too. Me man, me hungry.
