Ann, maybe you can post a picture of your "low tunnel" when you get it finished. How tall is yours going to be. It can get really cold in Michigan so if this man can have a fall/winter garden surely you can.

My day - Drove by neighbors and left book from book club on the inside of her storm door. Then went to shopping center to Belks, lower floor only. Bought bedroom slippers. They only had one pair in my size, so I ordered another pair to be delivered to my house. Then went to makeup counter and got some lipstick and face cream, then went over and looked at all the pocketbooks. Got one that was on sale for 40% off. In there an hour. Met middle brother and his wife for dinner from 5 to 6. We set outside on covered patio in 87 degree heat (no humidity). I was not happy about that, but they insisted that since there was very little humidity I could do it. (when did they become MS experts?) Then on to grocery store where I stayed for another hour. I came home and put groceries away, got out of good clothes and came on internet to see all of you.

I had a full afternoon yesterday, but just can't go two days in a row. Suffering a little from it today and didn't get up until late. Also, got very red eyes from allergies. I put drops in, but they hurt. I think it was sitting out while eating. The covered patio was surrounded by bushes and a few flowers.

I haven’t shopped in a proper department store like that for many years, Virginia. I was in Macy’s and Nordstrom’s before my wedding but Macy’s was kind of tacky with almost no service and Nordstrom’s had sample dresses but not many sizes of each. They were encouraging me to e-shop and have things delivered.

I do remember the amount of walking and standing in a department store. I was always happy when they had a lunch room to get a break. Glad you were able to last so long.

I am sorry that your family does not take your MS limitations/precautions seriously. Same in my family.

I plan the low tunnel for about 2 feet high at center. You can build these high enough for a door. Those are called, “hoop houses” and serve as greenhouses.

Ann you and Linda must have strong legs. It is kind of like when I had my dog I use to stoop all the time to pet her and my upper legs were very strong. Y'all's must be the same way. Even if you use something to kneel on you are still getting up and down which makes the legs strong.

Sunshine, I would think has strong legs from swimming. My stooping and kneeling was pre MS days.

You did an amazing outing there Virginia.Enough to qualify for a weeks worth !

Do you take Allegra at night (not Allegra D)? Fluticasone nasal spray daily? SIngulair by prescription? These could help. Try Systane eye drops?

Your brother is either not very bright, doesn’t bother to think Science knows more than he does, enjoys torturing you?Why not just briefly remind him that 87F with no humidity will impair your for a couple of days And that you must eat inside.

Tell him you know how much that will cut into his meal enjoyment, and that you are both burdened by this disease.

You don’t have to go along with that Virginia...
Most people I know, don’t want t sit in 87F air humidity or not, in FLorida, and they don’t have MS. Its like he was taunting you.

He didn't mean it that way I don't think, but no matter how many times I tell them they still can't understand that I have a REAL problem with heat. I will admit that the restaurant we went to is very cold inside. I don't know why they keep it so cold, but people seem to like it there. If we even went to eat at 6 or 6:30 it would be just a little different, but they seem to have to go right at 5.

My legs are not strong. I am in a w/c a lot. My swimming is due to arms. I kick just enough to not strain my back from dragging my legs. My arms make up for it.

Due to spasms, I cannot get on the floor, or squat or even approximate it. Frustrating for sure...

Sunshine I am sorry to hear that. I just thought all swimmers and especially surfers would have strong legs. It would be such an advantage for anyone but especially those of us who have MS.

:) Since I bruised my broken leg I can hardly stand on it. It is too painful. It hurts a lot less now than it did on Saturday, so it is healing.

I am not doing any of the PT exercises yet, until it quits hurting. I am going to put witch hazel on it like Rose suggested. I have not walked any distance even with a walker in years. Usually I take three or four steps from the scooter to the john. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, do you think you need an X-ray?

I swam 24 minutes, 1/2 mile today. I cannot stand long now at all. Mostly in w/c...

:) Sunshine it is just black and blue up near the knee on the outside. It is less painful each day. I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to break with that huge rod in it. If it did not start getting better I would have gone for an x-ray, Jeanie :)

Sunshine sorry you are having more problems being on your feet. I hope this is short lived and you can get back to what your base has been for awhile.

Congratulations on keeping that extra minute swimming.

Jeanie, you being a nurse helps you understand the importance of taking care of all of your body. Although I have heard people say that nurses are sometimes bad about not taking their own advice.

                                Ah. Thats reassuring Jeanie!

I am in a wheelchair most o the time now. I have a Roho cushion. I am having some skin breakdown issues. How do you prevent that Jeanie?
