Over the last 4 days I've been dusting books--a job I've done perhaps only once before in the last 10 years. Starting with the living room bookcase, I did a shelf a day, and today was the day for the dreaded bottom shelf. That meant getting down on the floor but I survived it. I had to be on the floor only once.

Dusting books isn't a very strenuous job but it is physical activity. Now it's on to running the carpet sweeper around to pick up all of the paper fragments that fell out of some of the older books.

I went to the grocery store on a cold, rainy day. My telephone said the rain was going to move out before 3, so I waited until 3 to go. I got groceries, stopped and got food to eat and got home about 5:30, but it was after 6 before all the car was unloaded and the groceries put away. Anyway, I got rained on because I just could not carry groceries and an umbrella and a pocket book and a cell phone that had my grocery list on it. My walking was very poor. I am going to start trying harder to do the exercises that I have been given to do and if they don't work I am going to ask to see a PT at home.

That does not sound like a fun outing Va!

FWIW, I wear a back pack, as heavy or light as I wish. I haven’t worn a purse in many years
So many practical and cute backpacks out there. Some are waterproof, such as the igloo one (I have that one) from Walmart. There are open pockets on teh sides to carry bottled water. There are 2 zip up exterior pockets for colander, keys etc., and a large interior that you could structure if you wish...

Women have been told for years to carry these bags becasue theyre “cute”, despite being bad for you skeleton!

Thank you I had a chocolate croissant a friend put in my freezer last week :)

Again I swam over 1/2 mile, pulled cover back on pool. Pool is still 87 and the air is 53 at dawn....for more days.

Tomorrow is IVIG all day, so no swim
Thursday is an early dental cleaning, so no swim as my DH will be gone by time I get home....

Unfortunately, no backpack for me. I would fall just trying to get into it in a store.

I have a couple of small backpacks - nothing like student backpacks. These are leather and are made as purse replacements. Both are from TJMaxx. They are great for hands free traveling or walking on snow when I need to be extra balanced.

Today I swam 1/2 mile plus 50 yards and pulled the covers back onto the pool, in 25 minutes. The pool was 86 and the air was thankfully 60F. Gradually creating anti cold ideas before and after swim so that I am not freezing when not in the warm pool. PT today soon.

Update on my pedometer adventure: I'm experimenting with using the old and the new pedometers at the same time. That's a lot of pedometers to be carrying around but they're small, and one is in a pocket while the other attaches to a belt loop. At the end of each day I get the two readings and will take their average as my estimated step count. The new pedometer is always 100-1,000 steps ahead of the other one.

It seems that the pedometers I have known can't be expected to be so very accurate.

:) You all sound like Olympic athletes to me. I hesitate to put my measly exercises on here but maybe it would help someone with limitations to go for it.

I stood for 3 minutes with the walker then did 20 heel lifts and then stood again for a minute. I also get on and off the scooter and toilet numerous times a day. I am a little discouraged that my leg strength is not better.

I still have my cold and cough. I am taking vitamin C and Juice Plus and other antioxidants and vitamins. I am not going to go to Andy's band tonight. I will stay home and watch Dr. Charles Stanley, I like his sermons.

The family TG will be at Jim's again. I sent them a check to get it at Publix. I hope all of you have a good Thanksgiving. Jeanie :)

I swam 1/2 mile plus 40 yards, pull on the covers, 27 minutes. Then i cooked a nice meal for 3 nights. My friend helped clean it up :)
Resting now, waiting for the med induced diahrrea to kick in — which is why I cooked early...

I swam 1/2 mile 27 minutes today and yesterday. I developed a strategy of taking the ativan 10 minutes earlier so it’s kicked in better for the swim.
