The only test I have coming up is a "poop chute" "looker-up" That is the 21st, next week. As far as the tumor on the Pituitary Gland, it had been very quiet and I am not going to disturb it if I can. YA-Hoooooo I did get the new washer/dryer this week, the front loading stackable kind I have been here 11 1/2 years and I am retiring my solar dryer for a gas one.

Jan I am glad he loves being in his chair. May even make him feel a bit more secure. Congrats on your new washer and dryer. I absolutely love ours. Saves a ton of water and washes great. I almost blurted out 'wow you have a solar dryer!' but before it could get to my fingers my brain kicked in lol. I am into the solar stuff and getting off the grid etc. so I was all excited for a moment lol. Big giant DUH!!

Reminds me of Joy talking about riding her mule. It took me a long time to figure out that she was talking about a vehicle and not the 4 legged variety lol.

Happy to report that the poop chute is free of any strange lumps or bumps! The doctor stuck his head in there and had a look/see. Actually I really don't know what he used as a probe , I was out of it.....

Well, it looks like I may have to bring Hank home. He make a little too much for Medicad to pay for the nursing home. There is no way our income will pay for him to stay there. I really don't know what to do. The home's administrator is going to contact his case worker to see what can be done. I will have to talk to the VA. That facility is 50 miles away and I don't know what has to be done there or if they have room for him. to self "Jan just wait and see what happens at KL Manor first, then work from there, OK" OK, that sounds like the thing to do now!

Jan I hope things will work out. If they don't you could try and contac the division of medicaid and ask about the elderly & disabled wavier program. I think most states have them. Mother-in-law's income is to much to be on medicaid but she qualfies for this medicaid wavier program that is set up to try and help you keep your loved ones at home. It is not perfect but better than nothing.

I don’t know what the Medicaid eligibility limits are in your state. All states are not the same with meeting some income requirements.
There is a special consideration that is called spousal impoverishment. It means that as the spouse you are eligible to keep a certain amount of income and assets for your own living expenses. The NH probably has already given you a number to call to get in touch with a case worker in the area you live in to submit an application. There are also attys. That specialize in elder law. These attys. Can give you more information on how to protect the communal assets and income when there is one spouse in a NH.

As far as the VA goes, in our area we have a state VA NH and one that is a Federal VA. The state VA operates under the same state guidelines for income eligibility as other NH’s in the state. The Federal one has a requirement that your husband would have had to have been injured in combat or served during a time of combat to be considered. Over here there was at least a 2 yr. waiting list at that time to be put on it.

Good Wishes to you and hope you are able to be helped in regard to this. You know it is hard enough with the health and mental issues our husband’s have but then to have to mess around with the paperwork and red tape involved with the finances is just another burden to carry.

                  Take Care Dear Lady

The NH administrator has been contacting the case worker on my behalf. I just told him of my medical situation and I don't know if that will carry any weight to help this problem.

I also tell people, "God's got my back!". Feel free to use either one of them.

Hank was bound and determined to come home with me today. As we were walking to his room this afternoon, I ducked into the room of a church member that is at the NH recovering fro surgery. Then I sat in a high back chair facing her bed. I stayed there until he gave up looking for me and went to his room. I feel bad doing this, but it was the easiest way to get out without causing a scene. I have to create a trust fund with the overage going into that fund then he will qualify for help. SUCH A BUNCH OF BULLCRAPPIE!
