On November 2 Lady posted this:

I will be offline from the computer for quite a while. Moving this room around for new carpet, and taking care of some medical issues. I have more specialists than I can count on two hands. I'll return when I can.

All of you my good friends, please be well and don't overdo things. I won't be reading here, or anywhere. I'll catch up when I return. I'm not leaving here forever, don't think that. I just have so many things on my calendar, and so many doctors to see, labs to catch up with, and many body parts that need fixing.

Sally, please pass on the info to any other peeps. Thank you.
    Take care..later then
I'm sure everyone here misses her.

Thanks Agate for reminding us about Lady. I had read that post, but had forgotten about it and I guess I did not realize she meant quite this long.

Anyone run into Mmcc anywhere? Wonder about her also.

:) Hi everyone. It is good to see all of you checking in.

David will not get the results of the biopsy until next week. The doctor said he would call as soon as he gets the report. Thanks for the prayers. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, here's hoping there will be only good news.

Cherie, the eye situation sounds troubling. What did the doctor say?

Virginia, mmcc hasn't been on since this new board started. I'll try to locate her by PM. I have an e-mail for her too, I think. Or maybe someone else is in closer contact with her? It would be good to know how she's doing.

:) Hi everyone. David just called from the VA. He got the biopsy report and it is cancer. I am sort of in shock. I will know more when he gets home and tells me about his visit. He did say he is to meet with the cancer team on the 11th.

Thanks for the prayers and being here. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, I am sorry to hear this. Just hold on until that appointment when they can tell you what they can do about it. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Jeanie, I am really sorry you had to hear this and sorry David is going through it. Just remember great advances have been made in this area and that along with all the prayers that will be said for the two of you as you go down this road will hopefully help get you through this rough patch.

Is David good about being his own advocate with Doctors? Now is not the time to be timid or intimidated by anyone. I think if you KNOW everything that can be done is being done that will help you. If it were me (and I have been there) I would want someone to begin to do all the research possible as soon as possible. That way you will know he is getting the latest and best treatment available.

We will be here and waiting to hear what he has to say.

Jeanie I am sorry to hear that news. Will be waiting to hear the treatment plan.

No nuts in my fudge I am allergic to peanuts and walnuts. So I don't put any in my candy. I eat a small amount and figure it into my diet or take a big dose of insulin. We are at MIL for 2 days as son goes back to Moscow Friday morning. He is on duty in the ER Christmas day as is our daughter. They like that double time and a half.

STILL COLD but not any snow in the forecast we better get some soon or the bugs are going to be terrible during the summer.

                      Aw Jeanie...
I had so clearly fixed in my head that these had to be benign tumors. But from everything you've said, he seems to be in very good hands and we are hoping and praying for a good outcome.

Saw the eye doc today. He said the incision has not even started to heal (cataract removed 8 days ago) and my eye is so dry that I have small corneal abrasions all over the place from just blinking. Two of the three eye drops I have to take every day can cause or worsen dry eye syndrome which I have had for years and have used rewetting drops with my contacts as a result for years. He gave me some "gel" rewetting drops and there was instant relief in the discomfort! And I can use them as often as I need to for comfort. It is the right lens and my vision had cleared to a very blurred 20/30 today (it was 20/60 the day after the surgery) but just one drop got a 20/25 5 minutes later. I am encouraged.

Jeanie, I'm so sorry you've had this bad news. I hope you can stay well in spite of the immense strain you're under.

Cherie, at least it sounds as if the doctor didn't give you the wrong lens. Hope they can clear up the corneal problem and the dry eye situation, and you'll end up with the 20/20 vision they promised.

Gary, you're just having a little of the fudge, you say. There's really no reason why you can't share with poor ANN there in that corner, right? And since that's way too much fudge for one person, ANN will be so grateful to me for speaking up for her that she'll just pass the rest of the pan my way.

Then everything will be right as rain.
