Happy Anniversary to Ann and Peter!!!

That reminds me that I need to iron 2 blouses. I was reminded because Peter likes to iron.

Flatcap, it was San Diego that I was trying to think of. I have heard that from a couple of different people.

We had another good day here. It was in the upper 60s to low 70s. But for me the main thing seems to be the weather pressure. If it is rainy, or hot or cold then there is a change in the pressure. I knew it was pretty good today when I reminded myself to go do my exercises and I just got right up and did half of them. Now I am going to do the other half. Today was not like Monday but still pretty good. Monday was the only truly good day I have had in months or longer. I just kept thinking "oh yes, this is how it is suppose to be." Sadly it isn't.

Congratulations on soldiering on with the exercises, Virginia! We do just have to keep on moving. Keep those parts from rusting.

Yes, Peter did love to iron, by all reports. I wonder if he would do our ironing if we mailed it to him? We could just pile things into a box and pop them into the mail and he could just iron them and send them back, carefully packaged so as not to disrupt the ironing job.

That may sound ridiculous but I once did secretarial work for a professor who sometimes asked me to send a package of his socks to his mother, who lived in NY state. He sent his socks to her routinely for mending. He said that it gave her something to do....

Virginia, yes those rare days when we feel like we are supposed to!

Agate, my dad said that when he was in college he had special mailers to send his mom his laundry through the mail!

Scarves: I lived in New England for a long time. Of course men wear scarves!

Yup, in that New England climate you'd better have a scarf. You'll get one after enough episodes of being out in the cold for a few minutes and finding your nose just doesn't seem to be there any more. The fashion when I lived there was balaclavas but there were also plenty of people wearing scarves.

I was listening to a Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... this morning in which the singer talks about his smoking pickup truck. Great way to start your Saturday!

I once saw something like that in Albuquerque, NM. A beat-up old car was rolling down Central Avenue, and it was smoking so much you would have thought it was on fire. We're talking smoke coming from all orifices, not just the tailpipe. The windows, the gap around the hood, everywhere.

Only in Albuquerque could you get away with that. The car could have actually been on fire, and they still wouldn't have been pulled over. Maybe it was on fire. Just another day in ABQ.

flatcap, I'm an ignoramus about cars and don't understand how a car with that much smoke, with the driver in it, could even happen. Maybe you can clue me in? Wonder if the driver survived?

Couldn't tell you the how or why, only the when and where. It was in the mid-1980s.

I saw it with my own eyes. The occupants looked unfazed, as if it were normal, which in some ways it was for ABQ.

Could it have been a gag? Have you ever seen mail-order catalogs that specialize in products that enable you to play stunts? Most of them are at a fairly primitive level of humor and probably aimed at kids but some were elaborate. I can imagine one where you could smoke up a car to make it look as if it was on fire, just to get attention....

Come to think of it, I would say it was a gag one way or the other.
