Broncos? Why are you talking to horses?

She doesn't exactly talk to them, Howie. She whispers, I think.

One of those New Rogenic Bladders everybody's getting? Let's see, I've tried Ornade, Ditropan, Detrol, and Vesicare. There might have been one or two others. They all helped a little bit but the dry mouth problems pretty much cancelled out their usefulness. Of the lot, I liked Vesicare the best though.

Other options might be more successful.

This building had three inspections in January. Whew!

Social Security seems to have turned over a new leaf. They've always, always paid their checks out on the 3rd unless the 3rd was on a weekend. Or maybe it was just if the 3rd was on a Sunday. Then they'd pay on the Friday before.

This month the 3rd is on a Monday that's not a holiday, and yet they paid today. Or at least that's what my bank is telling me. I hope this will be the start of a new trend.

I receive my retirement SS check, in the bank, on the 4th Wednesday
of each month, even if they fall on a Holiday.

I get mine on or about the 9th of the month.

              Peg,
Cathing or leaking? If they suggest catheters, there is a new intermittent self cath out by Coloplast called Speedi-cath. It looks like a small tube of lip gloss which you twist open to get a lubricated 4" catheter with a 3" handle through which the urine flows once the cath is inserted. It is so much easier with less chance of contamination than the regular female self caths. They have one for men too (only it's a little big to fit in a pocket) that, I am told, is much more comfortable to use than the standard self caths. And the NIH has determined that every catheterization requires a new catheter so no more cleaning and reusing. If the doc says you need to cath 6x/day, insurance has to pay for 6 catheters a day. Even tho' speedi-Cath is a bit more expensive than the regular catheters, if your doc orders it, insurance cannot substitute the others for it. I have specifics if anyone needs them...PM me.

For the guys, they also have a new external catheter (often called a Texas Catheter) that doesn't need a strap to hold it in place and does not pull hair. It also is put out by coloplast and is called the "conveen Optima" and comes with a sizing guide so creates fewer problems than what has been on the market up to this point. Found all this out at a booth at the Consortium in May last year and have samples of all.

Mid 40s and overcast here today . Most of the snow is disappearing. It's a "tired kind of day".

              Gary,
You need to let Trish know that David is using her "hug" quilt most nights to keep his feet warmer once he's in bed. That is a very useful gift and I so much appreciate all the effort and love she put into it.

:) Hi everyone. Peg I hope you find an easy solution to bladder problems. I made some hourglass shaped panty liners about 12 inches long. I cut them out of quilted waterproof bed pads and zigzagged the edges. I buy the super pads and place then on the liner and wear them all the time. If I have an accident this works. I also make more frequent trips to the bathroom to preven accidents.

Today is one year since David died. I really miss him. I am telling all my relatives I love them often now. When David got the liver cancer I thought we would have about 7 years from what the doctors said even without a liver transplant. Unfortunately David had been a recovering drug addict since 1989 and once he got in a lot of pain the VA gave him way too much pain med and Xanax. He died from overdosing himself. Sometimes I feel like he deprived us of having some more years together.

I am still going through photo albums, tools, etc. I just do a little at a time. I am going to get rid of our queen size bed and get a full or twin. That way I can drive the scooter all around it and make it by myself. I have been having Andy get on the far side and help me make it since there is not enough room to get to the other side on the scooter.

Also I want to get a refrigerator that opens to the wall. I can't get the refrigerator side open very far for my scooter being in the way. Jim is going to put this side by side one in his garage when I get one.
I have a small refrigerator in my computer room and most of the stuff I keep in it but it would be nice to have a more usable one.

I just got all my tax stuff together and sorted to take to the accountant. I loaned Jim and
Carla 60,000.00 to pay off their mortgage. I was only getting 0.45% on the CD's and they will pay me back by direct deposit 1100.00 on the 1st of each month which will include 3% interest.

I like Manning so I am pulling for the Broncos. Everyone be well and stay warm. Jeanie :)

:) Agate your posts are the only ones coming up funny. There is your avatar then a couple of inches of pink then the post in white. There often are no thanks, reply etc. on the bottom of them. Before the white post part is a box that says Trophies too. I wonder if this is a board problem or a glitch in you computer. I have no idea how to change it as I am a real novice user. Just thought you would like to know as you are so computer savy. Jeanie :)

I noticed that the other day. I wonder if she intends to give us all a trophy or just keep that one for herself?
