Here are the baby Ostriches, 5 days after hatching day.

I just went to look at their page and saw the third one never hatched.

Hopefully the other two will do better than last year!

The odds on farmed Ostrich eggs is not great, but these two look pretty healthy.
They are very hard to raise and You grow so attached to the sweet things.
Keeping fingers and eyes crossed.

They must be about 14 days after hatching and are looking much bigger than in the photo Sally posted.

In fact, they look as if they're itching to be out of there and on their way to something more interesting. They're almost pacing the floor.

Here they are in their new outdoor enclosure, chatting with the family, 6 month old
golden/doodle pup. You can see they are still pretty small. They only weigh about
1200 grams(not quite 3 lbs each. It's hard to believe that they will grow to 6/8 ft.
tall and live 30/45 years.

Oh BTW, Agate/Joan, Pacing, pecking, preening, pooping, peeing and
Peeping/Trilling is just about all they do!!! That's a fun day for them. LOL!!

Those two are so cute! I was watching them yesterday and they were just a trilling and running about. Love the sound they make

Poor giraffe, life looks pretty boring tonight . . . just standing, chewing her cud, looking at the wall/door . . . not even a window! Those ears are like radar, constantly scanning for sound!
Scene is like an anxious father waiting for news in a waiting room, only I think this is the delivery room?

Maybe there's a reason why there's no window? You'd think that a giraffe would appreciate a view as much as anyone else.
